Random Italian Stuff

Just a couple of fun, random things today before I get back to the 'To Do' list...

1 - While I was driving to the expressway this morning, there was a big tire in the middle of the street - a complete tire that looked just fine. I'm wondering if it will still be there when we go home tonight. It reminded me of the refridgerator we saw in the middle of the street shortly after we got here - in that instance, it was raining, and the fridge was serving as sort of a dam in the middle of the street.

2 - My coworker, Max, says he doesn't know how to drive an automatic car. The other day I called worked and said I'd be a few minutes late because the elevator in the parking garage wasn't working and I the handicapped spots were full. My boss told me I could drive to the rec center and she'd have Max park my car. I declined 'cause I really want to keep active since I can't really do cardio, but later on got into a conversation about the car with Max. I kept explaining that it's really not hard to drive an automatic car, but he kept saying that he didn't know how and that trying to drive one would make him nervous.

3 - I lied. I have a 3rd one. We're having some mozzarella with dinner tonight. God, I will miss the stuff. They make it from buffalo milk, and it's so much better here than anywhere else, even anywhere in Italy outside of Naples. I hope I get back to Naples at some point in my life just for the mozz...

Of all the things I expected you to say, "Getting back to Naples for mozz" was not one of them. It's the simple things in life, right? I am cracking up over the can't drive an automatic. Thanks for making my day start out right.

this mozz sounds good. I want pizza for dinner. When you mentioned the fridge in the street it reminded me of the day i was driving home and I had to swerve to miss a couch that was in the middle of the freeway.

In Naples, the couch would have started out in the middle of the freeway, somehow moved to the side of the freeway with the other trash, and if someone didn't steal it and take it home, it would eventually be set on fire because that's easier than disposing of it.
