Wow, I'm glad to see that most of you are fresh mozzarella fans as well. Thanks for the suggestions for care packages and for Jungle Jims, but it's just not the same. You have to eat the Mozzarella di Buffala the day it was produced - even sitting overnight it loses quite a bit of flavor. I guess that just means we'll have to get back here!
Now, before I read all of your posts, I was going to write about the mozz anyway, and how great and tasty it was, and about how much we love our mozz man. We used to go to the Cremeria on the corner across from the Supermercato Deco, but now we go to the Caseficio di Nonna Rosa 'cause their stuff is better. It got to the point where our mozz man recognized us and would start to strike up conversations, which was always a good time. By the way, if you want a visual, our mozz man looks like Jason Alexander, so I like to call him George Costanza.
One day, I went to the mozz place by myself on my way home from work and the mozz man asked me about my husband - asked if Trey worked for NATO. I said that yes, he was in the band and that he played French horn. The mozz man asked me about what I did and I told him I was a teacher at the American school in Gricignano, which took awhile because he kept wanting to know why I didn't work at the NATO school. Anyway, we kind of went on like that and he told me about his uncle who's apparently a general at NATO, except that it took awhile too because I'd forgotten the word for uncle and thought he was talking about his cousin. Then he told me about his old mozz store, which was over by the NATO base, and asked me how long we'd lived here, and where we'd come from. It was really nice and I was really proud of myself. He still smiles at us every time we go to buy mozz. :-)

cheese from jungle jim's is best the day you buy it too, therefore moving to Cincinnati makes the most sense.
perhaps once i start nagging you to move to ohio the other women in my life (namely the sarah's) will get a break for thier first time in years... hmmmmm....
I would just like to note that Karen has given up on nagging me to move to Cincinnati. I think she's realized what a stubborn mule I am.
Yeah, she keeps dropping these subtle hints our way now, doesn't she? Unfortunately I just missed out on the principal horn audition in the Cincy Symphony, so we'll have to wait!
PLEASE!!!! Let her nag someone else and leave me alone for a day!
At least she's given up on sending me job clippings from the paper in the mail....progress!
