Despite the Spring Ahead weekend being my least favorite of the year (I HATE it because of the hour of sleep lost), I had a great one this time around! Here's what we did...
Friday night - Happy birthday mom! We all got together at Oma's house for pizza, all of us being Oma & Ota, mom, Godi, all 4 of the Rill kids, Trey, Karen & Logan. It's always fun when we can all get together, especially when it's not a holiday (read: there's no holiday stress/tension). Most everyone left by 8:30, but Trey and I ended up staying and chatting with Oma & Ota until about 9:30.
Saturday - Trey played a suburban St. Patrick's Day parade in the afternoon, and in the evening we invited ourselves over to our friends' house. Well, we didn't really invite ourselves over - the he of the pair recently had foot surgery and hasn't been able to get out of the house, so we did take-out Thai food (yum), played games, and drank a lot of wine. We hope he was doing Ok Sunday because it was really the most wine he'd had in one evening since the surgery.
Sunday - After normal church things in the morning, I spent the afternoon at Donau for elections. I brought my laptop with, figuring that I'd get most of the next Kindergruppe newsletter done, but thanks to the fact that club now has Wifi (!), I got the whole thing done plus a bit of other work. Hooray for multi-tasking! After that I got to pick up the framed canvas print that Trey's mom sent up a couple of months ago - I'll have to take a picture and post it. It's our 3rd Christi Gause original...well, I guess it's not actually an original since we just have a print and not the original painting, but it's cool nevertheless. :-)
Last week we also booked our plane tickets to Texas in May - we're actually flying out of Milwaukee this time because even factoring in for gas and 6 days of parking in Milwaukee, we're saving over $100 doing it that way. One of the itineraries included in the list was flying from Milwaukee to O'Hare, and then on to Fort Worth, go figure. We're losing half a day in Texas, but it's half a day of getting in really late at night, and then sleeping in while everyone else is at work, so not really a very quality half day anyway.
Last thing in my update - Happy birthday Mark! It's today, and he's 27. Wow, my baby brother with the baby is 27. Crazy.
