First of all - thanks to those of you who weighed in on the Snuggie question. I actually found something much better within my budget...Yesterday Trey's cufflinks broke after his gig. He was a little dismayed, but mentioned he could super glue them like he did the last time they broke. Every year there's something that pops up last minute for him. Here's what I found this time:

:-)
Things have been busier since Thanksgiving hit, and will be picking up over the next couple of weeks with Christmas approaching. Here are the highlights:
-Last night & tomorrow are Chicago Chamber Choir's A French Christmas concerts - we were actually John von Rhein's (Trib's classical music critic) pick of the week last week, beating out the Chicago Symphony's annual brass concerts, and Music of the Baroque's brass/choral concerts.
-Last Wednesday, members of CCC, myself included, were featured on ABC 7 news. Here's the video.
-I'm again doing the Music Box Christmas show with some other CCCers and big gay Santa. It's totally become my favorite thing to do, and I recommend it highly to anyone in Chicago who's never been. It'll have me singing Friday (probably) & Saturday evenings, most of the day Sunday (after normal church singing), and all day Wednesday.
-I got to babysit Logan on Saturday night. He's so cute, it's ridiculous. Since he's normally sung to sleep, I got to take that part over for the evening. :-)
-Christmas Eve will be busy - I'll be in Church from 6pm until approximately 10:30pm. I get to go back the next morning at 10am and will hopefully be done by noon. It will be busy for Trey, too - he's in church from 4 until 6-ish, then again from 10ish to about midnight.
-Fortunately, my mom has consented to move the normal Christmas Eve festivities to Christmas Day, meaning a) I will be able to relax and enjoy them, and b) I will be able to spend it with Trey. :-)
Something else I'm very excited about: since I'll have down time inbetween the three Music Box shows I'm singing on Sunday, it means that I'll probably even get my Christmas cards in the mail on the 21st! Also, I may be able to log on and post a little during my downtime later in the week. If I don't, and if I don't get to post again before then, have a great holiday everyone!

I think those cufflinks sound perfect from what (little) I know about you and Trey!!!
Did you see on that site other cufflinks? Such as the facebook me ones? I think "facebook" and "me" cufflink meanings are a lot different than how they turned out as: "f" "me".... Just saying, something slipped through the cracks when that one was approved!!!
Martha's comment cracked me up!
How do you keep your voice up and strong through all of that singing? It just occurred to me, that I would probably not have a voice after one day of singing like you do.
i want to hear you sing - will the show be streaming online?
Karen, you can actually click on the news link and it'll play the video after about 1 1/2 minutes of interview with our director.
And Jen, I sing properly, take it easy vocally (don't talk a lot), and try to know my limits. Last year I actually did 2 rounds of caroling before midnight mass on X-mas eve, and by the end of mass I was spent. That's why I'm only doing church singing on X-mas eve this year.
Those cuff links are great!
