Sorry for the lack of posting - as I was walking to work this morning I saw a few things that I thought I should take pictures of and post, but then I realized I still owe you all pictures of the Olympic banners. Hopefully I can get those posted tomorrow night, and I'll remember my camera one day this week.
One of the most fun things I saw this morning was at the base of the Trump Tower - there's still all kinds of construction going on, and it looks like the construction workers are based on the river side of the building. Someone had put up a Blackhawks flag and spray painted "Pride [flag] is back." Fun. I think the city is rather overwhelmed at having both the Hawks and the Bulls in the playoffs. :-)
Another fun thing I saw was a pink street cleaning truck - it was pink for breast cancer awareness, but normally all of the Chicago Streets & Sanitation trucks are blue. It was funny to see a bunch of big, burly guys driving a pink truck.
Highlights from the past week or so...
-Wicker Park started rehearsing again this week - it'll be good to have a high quality group to sing with into the summer, although CCC is recording in early June, so May is likely to get crazy with rehearsals.
-I had lots of time at home! I feel more relaxed than I have in a while, though I'm sure that will change. :-)
-I drove up to Milwaukee on Saturday for the Donauschwaben annual meeting. I felt bad at not staying for dinner and socializing more, but I was sort of irritated that morning because it meant I'd not get to spend time with Trey during the day, and we'd barely spent any time together in at least a couple of weeks.
-Driving sucked on Saturday, but on my way home I swung by Alterra and now have a few more pounds of my favorite coffee on earth!
-Trey and I were able to spend a few hours together Sunday, and took part of it to go the Home Depot and find a paint color for our bedroom - painting will commence around May 16. By the way, Trey is very glad that everyone approves of what goes on in our bedroom!
That's all for now - hopefully more later this week!
