This morning is starting out to be a little gross, but I bet that will help the tulips - I saw some just starting to come up in the planter boxes along Michigan Avenue last week. :-)
This weekend was a good one - yesterday was a bunch of fun thanks to Tony getting us tickets to the Chicago Storm game. The Storm lost but I still thought it was an exciting game - indoor soccer is very fast-paced - and the friends we took along had a good time. Especially fun was making fun of the dance team, and speculating as to how the Lingerie Football League worked - apparently the Chicago Bliss plays in the same area, and they kept coming up on the scrolling calendar of upcoming events. I told the guys they could go without us girls, which prompted the request that I pick them up after the game. *smack*
After the game we went out for Indian food. Yum! Indian's always fun with a group because you get to try a lot more stuff. Trey was nice and didn't get anything vindaloo this time around - I can't handle anything that spicy as it kills all the flavor - but did try a different, less spicy lamb dish. I went with black lentils, a departure from my normal choice of anything with spinach, and the novice in the group when it came to Indian food went for some kind of shrimp with this incredible sauce. We all decided next time we went there, we'd just get that sauce and a whole bunch of nan. Yum!
Earlier, the weekend was all about German club. Kindergruppe was a short practice on Friday night because so many kids are gone on spring break and the Donau spring banquet on Saturday night was much better attended than I thought it would've been. The kids did a great job dancing on Saturday night, despite there being only 13 of them - we were supposed to have more, but a few got sick.
Perhaps the most fun was a group of 3 who were put together - the oldest, little girl G, had been in charge of such a group before and my mom thought she'd do well. When I told G, she said, "But remember that time we were dancing on the stage and I had to dance with two other people? I was really confused!" When I told her that my mom had said she did a fabulous job the last time, she said, "Oh!" sort of puffed up her chest, and started beaming. She again did well directing traffic, and her little group looked like they were having so much fun. Each time they had to polka around the circle the little girl on the outside, E, looked like she was being flung around but she giggled the whole time. It made all of the old people, well everyone really, laugh.
Ok, back to work for now...we're short today, so I hope it stays quiet!

Mmm. Indian food! I love saag paneer. Anything with spinach, too. And paneer. I like paneer.
Mmmm. I just may have to get Indian again soon!
PS - I agree with you about the spiciness of Vindaloo. Back in Cincy I had a group of friends who used to respond to the question "what's vindaloo?" with "Indian for really f@$%# spicy!".
My fav indian dish is choley! I love chickpeas and the sauce they put it in is delish!
