So, some random stuff for now: I'll post about my anniversary later - it deserves it's own post. :-)
-Last week Thursday the zipper on my pants broke. I noticed it on the train...on the way to work. Fortunately my shirt was one that could be left un-tucked.
-Last Friday at practice one of the newer kids had been really quiet all night and was looking a little 'deer-in-the-headlights' so I tried to strike up a conversation with him. I know he's a really big Cubs fan so I started by asking him if we was ready for baseball season. Man did that get him to open up. He kept talking and talking, and it was "Miss Viki..." this and "Miss Viki..." that. His last comment was, "Miss Viki, I'm sorry I wasn't at practice last time. My mommy was in the hospital because she had to get a baby out that died." He said a bit more on the subject and I responded in what I felt was an appropriate manner, and then he ran off to play with some other kids. Holy crap - this from kid who's probably 7 or 8. I thought about him pretty much non-stop for about 24 hours. Kids really can be amazing.
-Friday before that I was completely gleeful all day. I don't think I've felt gleeful for years. I was very excited to pick Trey up from the airport that night. :-)
-Last night we got to cook dinner together. Hooray! We made lamb kabobs for a variation on gyros, along with a yogurt-feta cheese sauce. I also got Trey to try a new grain as part of a side dish - buckwheat (I was looking for Bulgar, but the grocery store didn't have it). He liked it!
That's all - more later this week. Happy Monday!

That little boy just sounds so adorable! That was so nice of you to go out of your way though and try to include him more and talk to him. I am sure that definitely brightened up his day... esp after what sounded like a rough week!
And... I'm totally jealous that you guys can cook fabulous things like that. That sounds so delicious!
oh my gosh!! what innocence! i want to hug him!
buttwheat. hahahahhahaa!
:D
Poor little guy, what a tough week!
I want to know why clothing never breaks on your way HOME, instead of to work. Murphy's Law I suppose.
