1. I keep getting confused and thinking it's Wednesday today. Maybe it's because the past 2 weeks have been shortened and have felt horribly long, but I feel like this week is going by way too fast.
2. Last night was the 3rd night in a row I did not wake up in the middle of the night. I can't remember the last time this happened - seriously, it's been years.
3. Point #2 is even better because over the years I've become accustomed to midnight snacking. I'll wake up, get a glass of water, and have some kind of little snack like cereal, peanut butter, leftovers spaetle, or whatever's around. In order to not get fat, I'll plan for this when I'm eating during the day and eat just a little less than I should, and I'm sure this has created a vicious cycle. I'm hoping that my not waking up streak will continue, and that will help me to kick the midnight snacking thing.
4. Getting over having a cold sucks. I've only barely got a touch of it left, but the effects are lingering. Last night I sang a normal church service and my voice was shot by the end - I got all hoarse, which is mostly due to being dried out. This was despite drinking lots of water and constantly having cough drops to try to stay hydrated and keep things moist (shut up). I'm worried about my rehearsal tonight, and hope that things will be a little better.
5. I'm really excited because Sunday I'm going to up to Milwaukee to see Semele, a Handel opera. I love Handel, but I'm even more excited to see some Florentine friends I haven't seen in years.
6. Alexander Nevsky is playing on the radio right now. That's one of the few pieces I can hear on the classical station and almost immediately identify, and it always brings back good UD memories. The UD Chorale joined the Dayton Philharmonic Symphony & Chorus to perform live while the movie was being shown. Cool experience.
Happy...Thursday. :-)

What time do you go to bed that you are waking up at midnight? I'm glad you are sleeping through the night better. I hope it continues for you too.
I usually don't get to bed until about 10:30 or 11, and wake up between 1 & 2. Unfortunately, most nights it's not possible for me to get to bed earlier. Fortunately, lately I've also not had trouble getting back to sleep after waking up - every once in a while I go through a phase where I wake up and can't get to bed for 2 hours...
getting up in the middle of the night is AWFUL. I hope it doesn't continue!
I love that you said "shut up" in point number 4, because in my head I said, "That's what she said!" LOL!
And I agree on the cold thing. Those last remnants are always the most annoying part of the cold. Hope they end soon for you! I'm still in the active cold phase.
