Random thoughts

Well, work's still busy, but yesterday I finally got to the point that I felt like I can breathe a little, and that I'm going to be able to finish things I'm working on and amply prepare for upcoming projects. Hooray! Hopefully that means I'll actually be able to start posting more myself, and commenting more on all of your blogs.

For today, I just have some random thoughts:
  1. Is it weird that people come in to work matching? Yesterday must've been blue collared shirt/black pants day around here. That's what I was wearing. At one point I was walking past a few folks' desks, and there were 3 people within a 10 foot radius of me all wearing blue collared shirts and black pants.
  2. It's so nice that flights get in early once in a while. This weekend I went to visit Karen in Cincinnati, and my flights got in early both going (over 25 minutes) and coming back here (15, but we would've been over 25 had we not had to wait for the plane to be de-iced). Although I love traveling and flying especially, my main concern is that my flights are going to be delayed and therefore, screwed up. It's nice when they're not.
  3. This is really crazy - the last time Trey and I were able to sit down and have dinner together was January 18. The last time we were able to cook together was probably around the 11th, but I'm not sure. The next time we will be able to sit down together for dinner will be February 7 (we may be able to go out for lunch this Saturday), and we won't get to cook together until the 8th. I'm glad we had that week of down time right after Christmas, and that things will calm down a little bit later in February.

Ok, back to work - have a great day everyone!

1) yes, that is! and it's not uncommon.
2)that is nice. and much nicer than being late. I have noticed, however, that some airlines are seriously padding their flight times. Some, particularly for shorter flights, will even double the time (a true 45 min flight may claim 1.5 hrs). Several times I've been delayed 30 minutes or even an hour, yet still managed to be "on time". (also note, I've heard it's smart for them to do so b/c they get fined for being routinely late. Adding a cushion makes them stay "on time" even if, as I mentioned before, they are delayed by an hour).
3) That's busy! I lead such a boring life. I don't do much! Alvin and I sit down and eat and cook much more often than that. And he's out of town 4 days a week.

Wow! You're really busy! What do you guys do for meals if you don't cook and eat together? Just make your own meals or does one person make it and the other person eat leftovers when they get home?

yeah, that matching thing is weird because inevitably it's like a whole handful of people.

I like when I "get the memo" on what to wear so I am in the matching group!

So, today me and one of the guys who matched yesterday both wore brown pants and a black top. Weird.

On dinner, if only one of us is home s/he will cook dinner for one (my standard is a microwaved baked potato and soup). If we're out we grab whatever we have time for because we get home too late. It's not always quite this bad. The stretch we're in is just exceptionally busy.
