This weekend was fun - we had 2 other couples over for dinner Saturday night, made possible in part due to the fact that we bought a dining room table last week (prior to that we could only have 1 other couple over at a time). Hooray again for Ikea. Every time we add a piece of furniture it feels even more like grown-ups live in our apartment. :-)
(this is the table not-expanded. It's also available in a square for 2-4 people, in a rectangle for 4-8 people, and in an oval shape for 4-6 people)
Our table is cool - the Bjursta model seating 6-10 people. The leaves actually fit right under the table top (they just slide underneath while the table is expanded) which meant we didn't have to worry about where to store them. The picture to the left is a shot of the table expanded.
We splurged on the nicer Roger chairs with the suede cushions, too, and they're awesome! We got the table and 6 chairs in Trey's little Aveo, and could've gotten at least 1 more chair in there, maybe 2. I'm going back in a couple of weeks to get 2 more chairs, though.
Happy Monday all!

I love new furniture and Ikea is just the place to buy it!! Love the table!
yea...dead people in bodies of water (no pun intended!) creeps me out for some reason. More than dead bodies found elsewhere (unless, of course, "elsewhere" gets to be a little too close for comfort to wherever I am).
After I move I'll probably hit up IKEA for a few items to complete the place. :) I haven't been to ours yet (shoot, I've only been to one once, and it was in Pittsburg)
Looks fantastic! Hooray for IKEA being the store of choice for quality furniture. :-D
I know what you mean about the furniture thing and feeling like grownups... we bought some realy nice shelves to put on the side of our entertainment unit... and they look so nice... AND next year we're moving to a two bedroom apartment... so I feel even ore grown up having an EXTRA room...
Our one room + kitchen apartment has been fully stocked for a long while. I so hope that soon i can go shopping for the furniture of a "real" and "grownup" apartment. ;)
That must've been an ugly sight, the dead guy, I mean!
Dude, I LOVE leaves that slide underneath. It was a huge selling point for us on our dining room table. It's so nice to not have to carry or store anything. They're right there! So good choice. :) And it's always nice to splurge on chairs. Your butt will thank you later. :)
damnit, i want a table with self-storing leaves!
