So this week's been interesting...
At work - we had a new girl start Monday morning. She was much anticipated and everyone was looking forward to her being here. Unfortunately the employment agency through which she was found gave her incorrect information about our benefit package. Tuesday morning she came into my office and quit. Yesterday afternoon at 3:45pm we got notice that someone new was finally approved to start working....today. Right now she's actually 15 minutes late already. Hmm. We're also having issues with an employee with whom I work very closely, and it's been very frustrating. Once the situation is resolved I'll write more - hopefully it will be sooner rather than later but none of us are counting on it.
In life - I got through Easter and my CCC concerts, Trey had a concert Sunday afternoon, and I figured that things would calm down despite a trip to San Antonio this weekend. Only things today are crazy because we're flying on American...and the flights to San Antonio are on MD-80s. Trey is trying to get out today via Fort Worth, and I may just not end up going. Top that off with the fact that it's raining today and very windy so my morning walk sucked and (TMI warning) the fact that I hopped on the scale this morning and was 4 pounds heavier than yesterday, meaning it's about to be that time of the month, and it's going to be a great day.
Oh, well. I can't complain too much - yesterday the cashier at Walgreens swiped something incorrectly and I ended up getting a $6 item for free...
Happy Thursday!

So whats up with all of the airlines going out of business?? Is business that poor??
I hope you were able to stay reasonably dry during your wet and windy walk.
I think that quality workers are harder and harder to find. We have a kid in our office who is a hard worker but a jerk. At one site, the client/contractors called him Mr. Ego and I do not think it was in a complimentary way.
I like how you always find a bright side to everything--like your walgreens experience. :)
Update on the airlines situation. American's website is already showing that our flight for tomorrow is cancelled...
your new employee is late on her first day?! good god.
Maybe the new employee has a valid reason?!?? My very first day at Campbell Soup (back in 2002) I had to miss b/c my car was dead broke down on the PA turnpike.
Just trying to defend her until she becomes the next FFG. :) Although it is unfortunate that the GOOD one was the one that got screwed over. Such a shame. Hopefully she finds something even better for her. And perhaps it will come about now that she's available again....
That sucks for you about your flight. On one hand it's good that you're aware of it and looking at other options...on the other hand they're LAST MINUTE (read: probably relatively expensive) options. Good luck!
Trey is now booked on a flight. I am also booked on a flight, a different one because I need to go to work tomorrow, but it's going to Dallas and overnighting there. I don't know if I want to deal with that, as I'm nervous about that flight getting canceled, too. I feel like a party pooper, but I may just be taking the refund American is offering. I won't make that decision until tomorrow, probably...
You can't gain 2 pounds in a day... That's horrible! I am sorry to hear about your weather, it sounds like what awaits us next week. At least we got a little sun today...
And yes, I can really understand the co-worker problems, we have the same issues at our company! AND the same happened to my dad - the recruitment people gave him completely different info than the people he would actually have to work with. Outsourcing is not the best after all, huh?
