This weekend went by way too fast, but was fun and slightly relaxing at the same time. I still needed an extra day, mostly because I think I'm losing my fight against getting sick...
Friday night I had Kindergruppe, which went really well. The last 10-15 minutes of practice were spent doing 2 slightly more complicated dances, each done in squares of 4 couples. I was charged with assisting a group of the younger ones (median age was 6 1/2 or so), and they did so well! Grand-right-and-lefts are hard for younger ones, but something clicked so that they were able to stay focused and I was able to give them the instruction they needed. It was fun. :-)
After practice I went home, had some dinner and crashed for about 13 hours. I woke up once or twice to go to the bathroom, but I guess I needed it, huh?
Saturday afternoon Trey and I went grocery shopping and did mad house cleaning before some friends came over for dinner. I made my new favorite from-scratch recipe for butternut squash soup (yum!!!) and we also made pasta with a tofu-pesto (yes, Trey actually gave in to the tofu, but a) it was blended to make the pesto, and b) our friends are vegetarians so that worked best). The pasta was was pretty good, but can be improved upon. At Trey's request I also did my newer parfait thingies with cool whip, pound cake, berries, and a berry-red wine reduction sauce. I figured it was getting old because we've done it for 3 separate sets of dinner guests, but if Trey likes it...
Sunday morning was easy church (I didn't have to cantor and the choir wasn't doing a separate anthem), then home to do laundry and then it was dance practice for the adults. Crazy how the time flies!
On a different note, I'm proud of myself because I hadn't gone running in months, but started up again a few weeks ago - I've been getting in twice a week, and this past Saturday did 3.25 miles without stopping to walk. Hooray for me!

great job on the nice run! I can't even run 2 miles yet without stopping....
as for the yummy dessert getting old - that's the beauty of serving it for separate guests - they get it once and think it's fabulous, but you get it THREE times!!
I hope you win the not-getting-sick battle! You have been so busy it wouldn't surprise me that germs catch up to the tired body...
I forgot to mention how much I like butternut squash soup. What do you put in it?
13 hours of uninterrupted sleep?!?! soooo jealous...
Wow! Was someone chasing you? Otherwise, why were you running? HAHAHA.
The kids dancing sounds soo fun. Right and Left isn't only hard for children...
I want to come to your house for dinner!!!
good weekend! I like your new profile update too.
