I can't get sick! and other fun things

So, after all of the sleep last weekend, I was still feeling run-down and in 'getting a cold' mode by Tuesday morning. Probably had something to do with work being nuts Monday (it's stayed that way all week), more snow Monday night, and dealing with that snow while picking Willie up from the vet.

Digression: Willie gets freaked out when he's taken out of our apartment, or on Monday, when we walked out of the vet's office, and the snow didn't help anything. He was getting his teeth cleaned and had to have a couple of teeth pulled, but that should keep him healthy for a long time. Everyone at the vet's office loved him and said they were going to miss him. He's such a sweet kitty. :-)

Anyway, Tuesday night I had a CCC sectional, which I left slightly early in order to avoid missing my train by 10-15 minutes and having to wait 45 minutes for the next one. This got me home by 9:40 instead of 10:40, which helped significantly. Tuesday morning I also started taking a triple echinacea dose, which seems to have done the trick in avoiding the cold really taking hold. Hooray! With Easter coming up in March, now is not the time to get sick. Really, if I got a cold in April it would be Ok but I'd still rather avoid it entirely.

Other, more fun things - Trey and I are doing a date weekend in Chicago this weekend. We can't seem to make an out of town trip together happen because of our schedules, so we're sticking around in Chicago. Hooray for Hotwire hotel deals and the swanky restaurant gift card I got for Christmas. :-)

Finally, my mom's blog is worth another look today - her cross stitch designer friend has designed a memorial piece for Gnorman. It's too cute.

Have a great weekend!

A) I hope you get over the potential sickness and not come down with the fullfledge thing!
B) awww, how cute! That's fun to do a "date" weekend in your own city (and cheaper since you don't have to fly anywhere!)
