I'm it

So, I'm going to break the rules and not tag anyone because a) everyone's been tagged, and b) I'm planning on actually replying to my brother Mark's long 'getting to know you e-mail.

7 random things about me?

1. I really, really, really want to take a belly dancing class, but I cannot find a regular evening that I have free in order to do it.

2. While I do subscribe to the theory that 99% of people are generally good, I have a hard time applying the same principle to people being generally intelligent. I often catch myself acting under the assumption that those I don't know are stupid, which is really not a good mindset to be in most of the time.

3. I'm a really good procrastinator, but most of the time I feel like I can justify it because I'm procrastinating by doing other work. I know how to prioritize, I just choose to ignore it most of the time.

4. Baskin Robbins makes this great sugar free Pralines n' Cream hard candy that is awesome. It's my new favorite candy because a) it's awesome, and b) each piece is about the same size as a normal piece of hard candy but only has 10 calories.

5. When people blatently use grammar incorrectly I always have to fight the urge to correct them, especially when it's something in writing that I could anonymously take a red pen to, then turn around and send to the offender. Today, I lost my fight; when I saw a sign for the building's catering service with incorrect usage of apostrophes, I sent a comment to the webmaster for the catering website.

6. I have timed my "getting out the door in the morning" routine to a T - while the hour and a half before this routine is more flexible, here's how getting to the train goes:
-I need to be out the door by the time the clock on the stove says 7:08, or immediately turns to 7:09. My car clock is just over 2 minutes fast, so by the time I get out there it should still say 7:11. I then make it out of my garage space & parking lot (right turn), around the corner, and through the stop sign to the stoplight by the time the light turns green at 7:13, which gets me to the following light at 7:14/15, which gets me to the garage at 7:16/17 (which is really 7:14/15) so I can make my 7:20 train that I need to show up for by 7:18 (the parking garage is on the north side of the tracks, and the doors on the south side of the train open - if I get there at 7:20 I see the train, but can't actually get on).
-If I am more than 30 seconds late I can turn left out of the parking lot and loop around a different way, and still make my train, but that's my last chance.

7. I save directions to everywhere I've ever driven in my glove box, just in case I need them again. The only time I throw away a set of directions is when someone moves.

I'm sorry if my spelling in this post sucks, but for some reason the spell checker doesn't seem to be working...

6 is hilarious - but when I was going to school and had a train to catch every morning I had the exact same thing down (had to leave by 6:04 by the microwave clock, had to arrive by 6:12 by the clock on my car which was 4.5 minutes fast so I could catch the 6:12 red line that sometimes came 2 minutes early).

Now, well, I just walk in late to work, sometimes with donuts, if I leave late or bad traffic.

I hope you find an open night for the belly dance lessions. You will love it!

I would also love to do bellydancing, I think I have more than enough belly for that... :)
Since I am off sugar (including sugar-free candy, as it feels like cheating) it seems like everyone is talking about it. :) Talking about fixation... :)

I love that you justify your procrastination...but then, I guess that's part of being a good procrastinator...

regarding the grammar thing - we got a letter from the YMCA welcoming us to the neighborhood yesterday. In it the author misused residence by writing residents. i'm debating writing her....

I also save directions in my glove box. Mainly this is because Justin always drives and if I'm left to get somewhere by myself, I would be up a creek. Glad I'm not the only one!
