Ahhh....

Who knew the Twinkie post would get such a reaction? I don't even eat Twinkies very often, but the once a year (frozen, of course)...man, how yummy! Anyway, things have been crazy, still. I thought life would calm down after Easter, but not quite. I think they will this time around...

Work is nuts. I keep saying its a really strange...different...unique...not sure what the right word is here...office it is to work on, and I think recently things have been on the downside of that "differentness". Still, I certainly feel like what I do makes a major difference, it can just be a little difficult at times. I keep telling myself that as of July 1 I'm in with the 401k...

This week I actually was at home 3 out of 5 nights, but I think trying to tackle some housework did me in - at least we have clean clothes! Saturday I was out all day with confirmation mass at Sacred Heart and then a visit to Rill Oma - she wasn't doing to well this time. While she did recognize me, she didn't know who I was (she kept saying to her live-in aide "No, that's not Viki") and it was the same deal with Tony, who went with me. Tony got mad about the way she's living, which is something I gave up on a long time ago. At least she seemed happy the whole time we were there - she smiled a lot! - and she spoke in English, which I think made things easier for Tony, too.

Today was church and then, straight from there, a drive out to Rockford for our last CCC concert of the season. My mom and Godi came to the concert, which was really neat of them to do, and made the concert more fun. In church I kicked some butt on "I know that my redeemer liveth" from the Messiah, which the music director had me do during communion as he wants to give the choir a break after Easter (no choir at church next Sunday!). It's one of my favorite pieces on Earth, and man, if I could do it that well all the time I'd actually win auditions. :-)

So, now it's 7:30, and I finally got home about 40 minutes ago. I stopped at the grocery store on my way home to pick up coffee, which I forgot during my trip yesterday, and some blue cheese, which I am now enjoying with some wine. Trey is at a friend's going away party - a former Navy quintet guy who's going to Italy - and since I (1) had a really full day, and (2) didn't get home until after he would've had to leave, I'm enjoying the quiet. Actually, I'm going to pull the stuff we need to take on Wednesday night to meet with the mortgage guy, but it's still quiet and I can still drink wine while I do that.

I guess that's all for now - nothing terribly exciting, but it is what's going on. Have a good rest of the weekend/beginning of the week everyone!

Your home purchasing seems a lot easier than ours was! Hmmm, maybe we went about this the wrong way...

Do you watch The Office? Maybe it would make you feel better about yours? HAHA.

Dude. I purchased a twinkie today inspired 100% by your previous post. Aside from the recent fried twinkie taste-test (which 3 of us shared 1), I can't remember the last time I ate one! I was good...I purchased the little twinner snack pack (not a box!). Yup. It's still good.

Enjoy the alone time! Isn't it nice?

Yay for good singing!

When I was in Schaumburg, my apartment complex turned condo and they offered a great deal to people living in the apartments. I'm glad you are in a place to take advantage, at the time it was offered, I couldn't take advantage of the offer. Best of luck!

I've never had to go through the hassle of buying or building a home but renting is enough for me right now!! It's such a big decision! Glad your's seems to be going with such ease right now... hope it stays that way!

On the apartment - I figured we'd still be renting for a few years until we could scrape together a downpayment, as the only way we could buy something without one in our market would be by purchasing a double wide. Because we live in the complex, we're getting our unit for easily 20K-30K less than what we'd spend otherwise, which makes up for the downpayment. Plus, I guess one of the new owners is also part owner of a mortgage company, so it looks like we'll get a good interest rate there, especially with our credit scores (hooray for us!). It will still be a couple of months before we can close, but at least we'll be pre-approved...

On my "ahh" night - I was so drained I did nothing except for unload the dishwasher last night. I fell asleep around 9:30 and still could not get up this morning!

Oh, and I'm wondering why I have word verification all of a sudden?

You have been very busy I see. Twinkies are my favorite treat when I go to the U.S. (which I don't do too often). I asked my dad to bring me some when he got back home but all I got was a t-shirt... :(
I am also very curious about how you sing!

Perhaps Viki could record herself singing and post it for all us to hear. :) Trey can play his horn, too. (and for more appeal)...I'm sure Karen's wombed Nicole would LOVE to hear your music. :)

Viki is perhaps too modest to tell you that she did a CD that was released a few years ago. It is called You and Me and the Man in the Moon and she does the vocals on all but one piece. The CD is all children's songs and lullabys. You can order it from Amazon, and there is one site somewhere where you can hear clips from the CD.

Perhaps Karen will receive a CD from Viki as a baby shower gift?

Twinkies are gross.

Karen already has a CD - I sent it to her immediately upon my return from my trip to Ohio for Alex's baptism, during which Karen told us she was expecting.

I think we will have to record music from Kristin's wedding. Trey and I will actually be doing something together for that. :-)
