Random thoughts for today

I've never done one of these, but don't have anything in particular to talk about today:

1-There are some fantastic new diet sodas out these days. My favorites are Dr. Pepper's Berries and Cream, and the two Pepsi Jazz flavours - Black Cherry/Vanilla and Strawberries & Cream. Yum!

2-People are dumb with their cell phones. The other morning on the train some lady started listening to her messages on speaker phone. After a couple of minutes a man turned to her and asked, "Do you really think this environment is appropriate for speaker phone?" The rest of us wanted to cheer.

3-FFG is still here, but I have been able to avoid her for the most part. Ooh, I just thought of something to blog about - tomorrow I'll have to tell you about the Asian tea saga.

4-I'm looking into getting headshots done. I need them if I want to audition for the Grant Park Festival Chorus, which is a great gig, from what I've heard. I was hoping to spend less than $500, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Oh, well, at least it gives me an excuse to procrastinate on doing union research. :-)

5-My cats are hysterical. I still get the biggest kick out of talking to Trey when he's calling from home because Siggy is always meowing in the background.

6-Next week is Thanksgiving, which means a 3 day work week. Thank God.

7-CCC is probably going to get a live spot on WBEZ (Chicago's public radio station) to promote our Christmas concerts. How cool is that?!?!

8-I finally got a picture posted, and now I've realized that when I leave comments on others' blogs, it looks like I have a hole in my one eye. That's really annoying.

Ok, enough for today...hope you're all doing well!

2 - did she have any good messages? I,too, get annoyed with that and then I start evesdropping. add people who talk on the phone while they are in a checkout line and should be paying.

Never noticed the "eye-hole". will the headshots be effective, or will they show this off. ;-) I'm sorry, I don't really know you, I shouldn't tease. But obviously can't help it. :-)

I thought it just looked like a glare, not really a hole.

Headshots are expensive, good luck finding a good deal.

I want to hear the tea saga!!!

can't you just have jonthan take a really good picture of you and then print out 8x10 of it??? why do you have to spend $500 on a photographer doing that???

All the girls in my office are lauding Berrys and Cream DP as well. I am not that experimental with my cokes.

Some times I wish we had a more accessable mass transit system in Dallas so I could experience these little 'joys'. Then I read your blog and idnore my gas bill.

I am with you on the 3 day work week. Of the 26 people in my Team, 22 of them are out all of the week and 24 are out on Wednesday. Yipee.

My random response to your random thoughts.

Headshots:

Kristin, a proper head shot needs to be done with a hairlight, backlight, and is usually retouched. Posing is also very critical. It also needs to be done by a photographer that is 'known' in the industry and knows what potenial clients are looking for. That way, all the head shots they get are similar when published, and you don't have to have them re-taken for each client. Yes, $500 is alot, but you just get tons of prints, and use it forever!

I forgot to agree with you about the Diet Pepsi Jazz flavors, I'm a big fan!

And yes, headshots need to be done by a professional with headshot experience if you want to be taken seriously as a performer.

I love how Justin used the generic word "coke" to describe all soft drinks. I miss Texas...
