Gettin' drunk in the opera

So, this afternoon was a Lyric Opera Preview on the classical station here, and they were playing and discussing "Die Fledermaus" by Strauss, one that Trey and I are really looking forward to. A big chunk of it takes place at a party, one at which everyone's drinking a lot. As I was listening I couldn't help but notice that at the beginning of the third act, when one of the characters is doing sort of a monologue, several references to Slivovitz are made. Ha!
