I realize it's been a while, so I'm going to try to post a few short things today...first, because our bathroom is out of order, we have to go use the community one on the 5th floor. I may have mentioned that we have several small art galleries in the building, and one of them happens to be on the 5th floor just as you come off of the elevators or out of the stairwell. Today I saw something new - maybe the more artsy types can explain this to me...
Their long window was covered in columns of moldy bread in ziplock bags (the kind with the clear zipper). Everything lined up and was symmetrical as far as the columns of bread and all, and the columns covered the entire window. The bread was in various stages of being moldy, some with green, some with yellow, and some with mold of both colors. While from far away it's almost kind of neat and it just looks like bread with some food coloring on it, from up close it kind of grosses me out.
It also concerns me a little because those ziplock bags, though they do seal pretty well, still aren't the most air-tight things out there. I wonder if people who have mold allergies would have to stay away from this particular gallery.

WHo would have though that moldy bread could be considered ART?
that is w-e-i-r-d.
not quite as weird as the woman who painted in menstrual blood, but still...
Who the hell does weird crap like this? That's not art! That's my bread basket on a monthly basis! So, basically, I could take all of the moldy tupperware out of my fridge, line it up on a window sill in a pattern of colors and call it art? Well, at least it now has a purpose!
Unfortunately, "art" is a VERY broad term. What's wrong with a pretty picture these days?
Gross!!! NOT ART!!!!
Wouldn't worry too much about people with mold allergies, the chances of excess mold spores getting out is low. Besides there is mold spores everywhere all the time, hence the mold issues people often have.
That reminds me of the cup Justin brought home FROM work today that he took TO work yesterday with milk in it. I about lost my lunch when I took the lid off!
