Right now it's about 5:30am and I'm awake and can't get back to sleep. It's actually not that bad, though, because I went to bed at 10 last night and slept all the way through, much better than the past couple of nights. :-)
The past 2 days have been insane, but very productive. Thursday I spent most of the day getting cell phones (no, my good deal of last week didn't end up working) and getting Sepp and Siggy set up in their foster home. The former was made very difficult, frustrating, and time consuming because I have a freeze on my credit report - I placed it there about 5 years ago when my wallet was stolen - which resulted in my having to spend a good chunk of the day on the telephone with credit people. I finally having phones by 4pm after having first visited the store at 10am. While I'm glad that it's so hard for someone to open an account in my name and I guess that means I have less of a chanced of being a victim of identity fraud, it was so freakin' frustrating!
Thursday evening was spent calling potential apartment management companies and planning my day on Friday, and Friday started with me on the phone to the Great Lakes Naval Hospistal and then TriCare, the military's health insurance people. After finding out that the only way for me to get my cast off within the next week without having to pay out the nose for it would be to drive up to the ER and get a referral to orthopoedics, I bit the bullet and did it - going through the proper channels would mean filling out lots of paperwork and having to wait a few extra days, and since I'm also worried about a gap in when COBRA starts after Trey's out (we now have a date of March 30) I really don't have the extra time. The ER doc up there was kind of a jerk, but I got my referral and ortho was great. They would've gotten me in that afternoon had their docs not been in surgury, so while I do have to go back next week, the whole ordeal Friday, including drive time up there, only took 3 hours, much better than I'd expected.
The smooth morning also gave me the whole afternoon to look at apartments and by 6pm I'd driven all over the burbs up here. I looked at 5 different apartments, stopped in to a couple of others, and called all of the ones I couldn't reach Thursday. I found one. Woo hoo! Second major thing down! Plus, now I have more time Saturday to find professional looking pants that will fit over my cast - while my mom thinks that I can get away with a less professional outfit because of the cast, my argument is that if I go in looking like million bucks despite a major challenge, it will speak to my ability to work through problems and come out ahead, making it even more obvious to Ravinia that they should hire me. :-)
Anyway, enough boring all of you for now. This morning I get to take Kristin to get her wisdom teeth stiches out and then we're going shopping together. If I can find a good suit by the early afternoon, maybe I can relax later on. I should do some online job searching because I haven't done any of that in a week, but I guess I could wait an extra couple of days because a) I've been running myself ragged this week, and b) I already have 2 interviews next week plus a job fair to go to. Ok, just needed to justify relaxing this afternoon...

So I too am being an early bird today. It's 7:30am and that is way too early to be up for NO reason! :-P
Glad to hear things are starting to smooth out for you. Hopefully you will find some awesome pants that will fit over your cast. :-) Also happy news on the apartment thing! That's great.
Looking forward to getting the update on the official address. :-)
YEah for productivity!
I'm sure you will find pants that look fabulous despite the cast, and I totally agree with your reasoning about looking like a million bucks. They are crazy if they don't hire you!
