I would like to start off by saying that today I totally outdid myself on my salad. To the envy of most folks who witness me eating them, I make pretty freakin good salads, mostly because I eat so many of them. Today's, however, took the cake. The tomatoes were fantastic, the whole thing looked gorgeous, and I dumped a ton of Garlic!Garlic! on it so it was extra tasty. Anyway, just had to mention that. :-)
On to the point of the story. As I was eating my salad at work, my coworker Tony asked me what kind of lettuce I'd made it with. Normally I use a mix of a few different kinds, but today it was all Lamb Lettuce, or what is labeled "Valeriana" at the Commissary (military grocery story). I told Tony what it was called and he gave me a funny look; apparently Valeriana is a very potent sedative. He immediately went online to find me a website with information on Valeriana, which listed its uses: sedative, tranquilizer, and basically a drug used to calm down crazy people. He asked me if I would be needing a nap after lunch.
Now, obviously I was not eating that kind of Valeriana. Further research proved that there is a different kind of Valeriana, which is also referred to as lamb's lettuce in Italian. Still, I thought it was funny. Makes me want to call up the Commissary and ask them why the label it the way they do...

That's funny! Speaking of sedatives, or at least something that relaxes you, I'm making some progress on the spa location. Hope you're having fun at work, and don't fall asleep because you ate all that lettuce! :-p
