Inconsistency...and other thoughts for the day

So, there are some things that just make me shake my head. Inconsistency is one of those things. Take, for example, the way TV works for us over here, and the listings for the programming. We have about 10 channels through AFN (the American Forces Network), including a program listings channel. Now that the Olympics have started AFN is broadcasting events on two of those channels channels all of the time, and on a third channel part of the time. On the two channels with continuous coverage, the program listings channel tells you what's being shown, which is great, but most of the time are showing the same thing. This is fine, except for the fact that one channel is listed as showing the events live, while the other will say that the events are taped. They're showing the exact same thing! This makes me want to smack myself in the head.

Of course, all of this could be avoided, and we'd actually get commercials, if I would suck it up, stop being cheap, and pay for satellite service...but it's more expensive than cable, I'd have to get a new TV and other equipment, and pay for installation. Good, I've just talked myself out of it again.

Next thought...how classy was it of Michelle Kwan to pull herself out of the Olympics? So many people in her position would've had a diva complex and done it anyway. Instead, she pulled out in enough time for the alternate to fly over here and get herself together before the competition started. That's so cool.

Last thought...I'm so sore today, even more so than the day after a monster workout! Thinking about this a little made me realize that I did mad housework yesterday, which included swiffering and mopping the whole place, as well as cleaning both bathrooms. I guess if you do that in a house that's about 1,800 square feet, you get sore. Note: no, we're not rich. Our house is just big because Americans can afford a lot of house over here with the housing allowances we're given.

I wouldn't know how my body feels after cleaning...I very rarely do it! So good for you for being cleaner than me! Haha! And I totally agree on the Michelle Kwan thing. I thought the exact same thing when I heard it.
