...when your brother calls you to make sure you aren't dead. Seriously, Mark posted some cute pictures of Logan in his new bathtub last weekend and was worried about me since I hadn't commented on them yet. (The bathtub, by the way, is this inflatable rubber duck. they put Logan in, and threw in about 30 other little rubber ducks - the picture was too cute!)
There was quite a bit goin' down this week - Trey and I both started up with all of our regular weekly rehearsals, and Trey started school. I'm back to doing Wicker Park this spring (hooray!), so it's both Wednesday and Thursday nights for me.
Being off on Wednesday made things a little better (it was an unpaid Furlough day, but it was still nice to be off), and since Trey was done with class and home by 2:30, we took advantage of a few free hours in the afternoon to look at new computer desks at IKEA. Looks like we can get something fabulous for less than the amount of gift cards we got for Christmas!
At work there was both good news and bad news this week - the bad news came in on Monday afternoon at around 3 o'clock, and for some reason, it got to me first. I picked up my phone only be informed that one of our employees had passed away over the weekend. This is the first time in the company's existance that an active employee has passed away very unexpectedly. We got grief counselors in the next afternoon, and everyone seems to be doing reasonably well, but we'll see how the next couple of weeks go.
The good news I got on Thursday - I found out that I'm not actually going to have to ask for the promotion & raise I was going to ask for in my performance review next week. My boss sent us all our evaluations to look over prior to our meetings, and she's recommending me for slighly more of a promotion than I was going to ask for based on all of the extra responsibility I've taken on this year. Go me!
Ok, that's all for now - I have to go hit the workout room before it gets too late. Have a good week all!

Wow, you've been busy with lots of life happening. Good things though!
Congrats on the promotion and raise. :-) That's a good thing.
Congrats on the promotion and raise! Excellent news!
go you on the promo - well deserved i'm sure!
Congrats on the promotion, though I'm not at all surprised that your boss recognizes how amazing and phenomenal you are. Go you!
Sorry to hear about the loss of an employee, but I'm glad to hear that you guys got grief counselors in to help people cope. Sometimes I don't think people realize how deeply people can be effected by a death of someone they know.
