I've again come to the conclusion that I'm too much of a perfectionist. I haven't been posting as regularly lately partly because whenever I have a few minutes to spare, I don't feel like to have much together in terms of coherent thoughts. Who wants to read anything coherent, though? :-)
I've been exhausted for the past couple of days. I think this is due in part to my crazy kitchen cleaning this weekend, and in part to staying up to watch the end of Monday night football. I realized that I really hated Brett Favre because he was a Packer. Although the yo-yoing between retirement and playing over the past few years has been really obnoxious, it was cool to watch him beat his old team. The last quarter was awesome, and makes me wish I would've watched the whole game, rather than just having it on in the background.
I'm also attributing some of my tiredness to my not getting to sleep in on Saturday the past two weeks - Ok, I got to sleep in, but only until 7am. At least last week it was because I got a call to sing a memorial service. Anyway, I know all of you with kids are saying, "quit your whining," but one of the reasons I'm not having children is so that I can sleep until 10, or 11, or noon, at least once every couple of weeks. I've laid out my day on Saturday so that I can sleep until 9:30. Hopefully it'll work out.
I have no idea what to bring my relatives in Europe when I go visit. Suggestions?
I still have to book my hotel nights for Munich. I've found great deals everywhere else, but that city is proving to be difficult (I consider a great deal to be a 3-4 star hotel with a workout room for around $100, better if breakfast is included and/or they have wireless internet). We're going well after Oktoberfest, so it shouldn't be an issue, but it hurts that it looks like we'll have to cough up over $350 for two nights in one city.
Forgive me if I've vented about this before, but why is it so hard to find a good pair of running shoes that doesn't cost a fortune? I mean, I don't think it's reasonable to pay more than around $50 or $60 for a good pair of running shoes, but since my feet are so wide, that's not even doable. I actually bought Payless running shoes about a month and a half ago - they fit well, and were only $40 (expensive for Payless in my mind) but won't last until Christmas. My aunt told me the other day that I should look at men's shoes, because the normal sizes are wider than normal women's sizes, but I looked at the Sports Authority the other day and all of the men's shoes looked very masculine. Grr.
I haven't read the Cakewrecks blog in a really long time. I think I should devote at least 10 minutes to that this afternoon.
Did you hear about the lady who let her 13-year-old ride in a box on top of their minivan? Apparently, the box was on the roof because it was too big to fit into the van, and oh, it was safe because it was "tied to the top of the car with a coat hanger." What are people like that doing breeding?
Ok, that's enough for now...I'll try to do at least one more random post this week!

The kid in the box on the van made my mouth drop open!! That is crazy!!
I only typically by running shoes on sale at places like Kohls. I will pay up to $50 for them.
I took Whiskey and Country Candles to people I visited last time I went to Europe. The Whisky might be more difficult with the new liquid regulations though. I always went for something really american. Hershey Kisses and Reeces peanut butter cups could be cute. :) I know a lot of my international friends got a kick out of reece cups.
OK, as a person with kids i officially deem 7am NOT sleeping in. 9 is sleeping in.
bringing your relatives something... what about something Chicago-specific? a bears cap? framed photo of obama?
are you still in contact with the tea chick??? i'm sure your relatives would love some tea ... lol :-)
I was also going to suggest Kohl's, I've gotten good deals on running shoes there. I've also had several pairs of men's running shoes during my fatter days when my feet were wider.
The lady with the kid on top of the van should be shot. People are ridiculous.
Oh, and I love incoherent thoughts.
this blog was so fun - i love random thoughts.
i'm thinking maybe something Obama related for your relatives. :)
I usually find good deals here: www.checkfelix.at They have good hotel and flight deals.
A kid on a box? The woman must have a problem with her son!
Honestly, I didn't like the American chocolates very much... They are not so good as our chocolate! :) Except Reese's cups. Candles are a good thing.
