Sorry for the lack of posting of late - you'd think it'd get easier over the summer, but I guess work has been nuts because of Open Enrollment and all of the related follow up that I just haven't gotten to it...
The really big news of the past couple of weeks is that yesterday was Logan's baptism, and Trey and I have been given the honor of being his Godparents. This, of course, means that now I'm a Godi, too, and Trey is a Keti (pronounced sort of the like the name Katie, although the K is softer and more along the lines of a G sound). We do actually need to figure out how to officially spell Keti. Oma said it was K-e-t-i, but she's not sure. We thought it was G-ae-t-i (the ae is an a with an umlaut). I don't guess it really matters a whole lot.
Anyway, we'll need to wait to post pictures, since Trey and I were busy doing other things and didn't take any. Logan was good and pretty much slept all day, including while the water was poured over his head. After church we all went back to Mark & Karen's where Trey grilled all of the meat for much while I handed out hard candy (another tradition that Oma told us about but is not sure of the origin of) and took over cuddling with the little guy while everyone else started lunch. All in all it ended up being a beautiful day all around. :-)
The other big stuff this weekend was a concert for me Saturday afternoon, a gig for Trey Saturday night, and a Cubs game for us Friday afternoon. They ended up losing but it was fun anyway, plus I got myself a new hat (see the picture below). Over the weekend they split the 4 game series with Saint Louis, which I'm happy with - it could be so much worse!

Cubs game on Friday, 7/12 - I'm sporting my new 1914 logo hat, with the little Cubs bear outlined in red. Here's a close-up, without the red outlining on the bear.

I really appreciate how you share german culture with us. I am predominately german and don't know most of these terms. :) Thanks!!
Congratulations, that's exciting! :D
Okay I am shallow, but I love the new cubs hat! Cool!
Congratulations to the honor! I think the logo is really cute. :)
In our dialect we'd write "Goti" and "Götti". (Almost the same...)
