Weekend update

So here it is, the beginning of June, and it's going to be raining for the next three days. I guess if that's the worst that happens it's Ok. It's just annoying. Fortunately, we had gorgeous weather this weekend...oh, and I peaked into the birdhouse Saturday and was able to see 3 little beaks!

Last week finished off well, and though I make it a point not to talk about work on this blog ever, I'll make a brief exception to toot the horn of my team at work. Our open enrollment period starts today, and since we're switching providers on a couple of our benefits and adding some other things, we're doing presentations for our staff. I think we were all a little afraid of freaking people out, and of overloading them - the presentation last week lasted an hour and a half - but people really received everything well and were very appreciative. We're still getting compliments on what a great job we did, how informative we were, and how professionally we handled everything. Our boss even got an e-mail from our broker telling us our medical carrier's rep was very impressed by how we handled things. Go us!

Ok, so on to the weekend - Friday night we stayed home and made American spaghetti (any time we make spaghetti we always make sure to call it "American spaghetti" because we know it's really not quite the same as the original). I absolutely love nights at home together on the couch. Even better is that all the furbabies came out to cuddle - Sepp has been a huge baby lately. Cute. :-)

Saturday we went back to painting, this time doing our hallway and entryway. I'm actually glad Trey bought the wrong color for our bedroom because now we're that much further on the apartment. We decided not to prime, which we think made the first coat take longer but saved a lot of time in the end and got it finished in a day rather than letting the project spill over into Sunday. Next up is the living/dining room, which we'll probably need to do one or two walls at a time. We also need to figure out what colors we want (we're thinking green, but aren't sure what shades), but we won't have time to paint again until July or August anyway...

Saturday night we treated ourselves to Indian food from a new take-out place in the area. The menu is actually pretty limited with just most of the favorites on it, but it makes choosing what you want so much easier!

Yesterday afternoon the Kindergruppe performed at Maifest in Chicago (see Evi's blog for pictures), which made for a nice afternoon outside and got me a schnitzel dinner to eat before my evening CCC rehearsal. I would've had myself a Hofbrau, too, but I'd already jacked myself up enough having to shout to be heard while inside the tent and I didn't want to sound like total crap for rehearsal...

Back to work - hopefully more tomorrow!

I love Indian food. What is your fav? Choley is by far mine. :)

What shade of green were you thinking? I am considering painting my spare bathroom a pale green. I think it is too small to go dark...

All of this talk about painting makes me so excited. Mostly because I hate white walls.

I haven't had Indian food in a couple of years, and now my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
