Monday again

Sorry for the lack of posting - things have been a little nuts. My workload is slowly getting heavier due to some situations beyond anyone's control. We're all keeping our fingers crossed that things will be resolved soon, like, within the next month. It would be nice to go into summer with a slightly lighter load.

Anyway, some highlights of the past week:

-I got to hang out with Kristin on Monday night - I love it when Kristin is in town, even though all we did was stick around my apartment so I could clean a little bit. :-)

-I had a good lesson on Tuesday night, despite tiring quickly. Jim mentioned again that I should do a recital some time, and I confessed that Trey and I had half-seriously talked about doing one together, but I don't think anyone would come.

-Friday night we ordered a pizza! We almost never do this, but definitely needed/deserved it. Since I discovered a few weeks ago that there is an Edwardo's near us (the only place I know of that offers whole wheat crust on both thin and deep dish), I couldn't talk myself out of it.

-Saturday night we stayed home, got a movie and cooked. Two nights in a row - love it! I found a recipe for Chicken n' Dumplings that added a bunch of veggies and called for whole wheat flower. Trey admitted after we'd eaten that he'd been skeptical, but both of us loved it. Definitely a keeper.

-Sunday was dinner at Oma's to celebrate all of the January, February, and March birthdays. After a couple of years, we'd finally talked Oma into letting us all do more of the cooking, so she did the meat and we each brought a side or two. I organized it all, and she kept trying to add an item or two, to which I responded that if she made anything besides the dishes we'd already agreed on, we wouldn't ever come over for dinner again. Well, it worked very well, and Oma admitted that she enjoyed it and wasn't exhausted like she normally is after we have dinner at her house.

-Perhaps the most exciting thing is that I got my $200 Tiffany's gift card on Thursday! I'm sure I've mentioned the Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Points program - well, the gift card was my chosen reward after 50 weeks of logging my workouts. This is what I got with it, and I still have $35 to spare! I'll save it for next year, to add to my next $200 gift card. I think next year I'll get something like this or like this, and the matching necklace in either case. It's all very simple stuff, but I like it...and it's from Tiffany's!

Ok, I'll really try to be better this week, but no promises. Have a great week all!

Sounds like you finally got a great weekend you deserve! Mmm, chicken n dumplins. I need to make that sometime (I hear my mom's mom made GREAT dumplins....I need her recipe. And technique, I'm sure)
