Just a quick post for today and then more on the weekend will come tomorrow, including a GREAT picture from the game. He he. :-)
So, as Trey mentioned we were at Miller Park Saturday night. When the time came to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch we got up and joined in, and afterwards turned to each other and simultaneously commented that the song had been played in a bad key. What do I do? First I guess that they'd played it in F, and then I whipped out my pitchpipe - sure enough, it was in F.
*smack*
What is it with me that compels me to do such things? :-)

Thats the musician in you. I wouldn't have had a clue the song was played on the wrong note. :)
it's a good thing you're hot, the people around you might have wondered....
what's a pitch pipe?
You're a music nerd. It's okay. Everyone has SOMETHING they're nerdy about. Just...it's a good thing you're married to a musician so you don't weird anyone out... ;)
For Martha - copy and paste the really long link into your address bar:
http://www.wwbw.com/Kratt-Master_Key_Pitch_Pipe-i29961.music?cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-Kratt-_-General%20Accessories_Pitchpipes%20and%20Tuning%20Forks%20-_-Master%20Key%20Pitch%20Pipe&mr:trackingCode=ED049327-4172-DD11-98CA-001422107090&mr:referralID=NA
The flip side of it is black resin with white letters, and it's probably about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, maybe a little less.
There's also a Wikipedia page, and the usage section is the most helpful. My only disagreement with it is that it says male singers favor F-F and female favor C-C...I much prefer F-F, probably because I'm a soprano.
Doesn't everyone carry their pitch pipe with them at all times?
