Reminiscing....

So, last night I was up a little late watching TV. I was about to turn it off and go to bed when the Golden Girls came on. Now, due to the fact that it's actually been years since I've even seen this show come up, and to Estelle Getty's passing this week, I decided to stay up for the next hour and watch. They were showing the episode in which Dorothy meets a man she doesn't know is a priest and invites him over to dinner for what she and the other girls think is a date, and the episode in which Blanche freaks out about getting old and almost has her entire self redone via plastic surgery.

Now, after not having seen this show for a few years and then watching the couple of episodes that came up last night I must say I'm shocked. The similarities between the 1320 girls and each of their respective Golden Girl counterparts is scary...

I'll leave it at that - I love you girls. :-)

you read my mind. When i heard that Estelle Getty died my mind immediately skipped to all of you. AWWWW! can we be these people when our husbands kick the bucket? i'd even consider moving to Florida if you said yes.

I had the same exact thought. I actually catch a couple episodes a week, and it always makes me think of you girls. And sign me up for the house of fun!

It must be ode to 1320 week... I'm with Karen. Moving to Florida and living together in our old age would be totally fun and crazy!

Can I ask who was whom, I have my guesses... they are:

Lisa--Dorothy
Karen--Rose
Viki--Blanche
Sarah/Sarah--Sophia

Note: I am not insinuating anything by these choices, they are guesses only!!!

How close was I?

I totally thought I had to be Dorothy too, Jen.

Can we have air conditioning? I can't live in Florida without air conditioning. Maybe I'll just have to come visit.... :P

Jen, you hit the nail on the head. :-)

When I mentioned this post the other day, Trey asked I was Blanche, and followed that up with, "not that I'm calling you a floosey or anything." lol

We can definitely live in Florida, as long as we're near an opera company! And yes, we can have AC...

I love that your husband had to make sure you didn't think he was calling you a floosey. LOL!!!!

I don't think I keep up with any of my college friends that well. Probably just 2 that I keep up with on a regular basis at all. Then again, the roommate I had the longest in college was already my longest friend ever possible.

Jen, you got it exactly right!

And I also love that Trey made sure you didn't think he was calling you a floosey, that's awesome!

And of course we will have air conditioning! Duh!
