Sorry to be absent as of late - life's coming at me a little fast this month. At least it's mostly been fun. :-)
Now, I've been trying harder lately to remember all the random things I see. It's kindof working, as I at least remember some of them - last week I saw a bunch of Amish people on Michigan Avenue (think about 60 of them, all between the ages of 45 & 65), and some girl who could barely walk in her 1/2 in platform shoes that had an additional 3 inches of heal...and who also had her ankle wrapped in an ace bandage. Gee, I wonder how that happened.
This past weekend was a good time, with a short weekend trip. Trey & I and another couple drove out to Munster, IN, to visit the Three Floyds brewery for an excellent tour preceded by lunch and beer tasting in their brew pub. Fantastic stuff (!), and though not a great tour visually, it was very informative and well done.
We continued to Indianapolis, where we were going to see an Indians baseball game (they were playing the Toronto Mud Hens) except that 1) it started downpouring on the way there and we hung out at a rest stop for about 30 minutes while the severe weather passed, and 2) not one of us remembered that the northwest pocket of Indiana is on Central time, but the rest of the state is on Easter time, which meant that we would've been an hour late anyway. Duh.
Sunday afternoon we went to a local winery for some tasting before heading back. It was enjoyable, but nothing spectacular. The best wines, in our opinion, were made from California rather than Indiana grapes (the southern IN and IL weather tends to lend itself best to sweeter wines, of which we are not big fans). We did pick up a bottle of Zinfandel - I think that brings our wine rack total of big, beefy Zins up to 3. They're not the best summertime wines, but we'll be well stocked with big reds by the time cooler weather comes around!
Other than that, it's been lots of singing. I've discovered that singing right after I go running is a very good thing to do...and as a result I've tried to go running 3 times a week the past few weeks. I feel like I sound great! :-)
Hope all is well with everyone...and a day late on a happy 6th birthday to my Siggy. 6 years old and he still thinks he's a kitten. :-)

Siggy still is a kitten :)
People (Like me) who cannot walk in high high heels, just shouldn't. I probably would've done more damage to myself then a wrapped foot tho.
Yummmm wine tasting.
He still looks like a kitten! Very cute picture!
What a great week! Are your singing/music lives slowing down a bit for the summer? Give you time to enjoy it? :)
I think there are some heels nearly no one can wear properly. It looks like she was wearing one of those types of shoes anyway.
(ok, fashion advice. Which is "better" a swollen ankle the size of a softball (only mildly exaggerating, unfortunately) or an ace ankle elastic sheath/compression brace worn with 2" heels?)
innately it sounds like wine from CA would be better than IN just because of the growing conditions.
3 zins - ha!
Just in case there is any confusion, Zin = the red kind of Zinfandel. Most Zins are arguably bigger than a lot of Cabs. None of the pink stuff in my house!
Siggy is still a baby!
Ummm...it was the Toledo Mud Hens that we didn't get to see. =)
