Thought for the day...

Forgive me if I've mentioned this before, but I really appreciate that the Greenpeace people are a lot less pushy this year. In past years they'd smile as you approached, ask you if you cared about the earth/your drinking water/other environmental issue once you got close enough, and then make some rude comment if you chose not to stop and talk to them. Most were also a little aggressive in that they'd start to walk toward you as you were approaching, which made the whole thing that much more uncomfortable.

This year, they'll smile and ask their question, but 95% of the ones I've walked past have not taken steps toward me, nor have they made rude comments as I've walked by. I really appreciate that.

Anyway, that's my thought for today. Back to work...and then on to being a rockstar. :-)

I think the greenpeace people will get their point across a lot better now that they aren't being rude.

Can't wait to hear the rockstar report!

Perhaps the higher ups Greenpeace people would be disappointed at how curteous and respectful these people are being.
;)
Just kidding. I give people much more respect and am likely to listen to their beliefs when they're polite and not forceful. Funny how people don't realize that. When they're rude I don't so much remember WHAT they said (which is their point) rather HOW they said it.

That's because there are a lot more hippies here in Chicago.

i soooo agree with you on this. if i don't make eye contact with you that means i don't have time nor the patience to listen a greenpeace speech. haha, but this year they are so much better!

I read that a truck of double-stuffed oreos spilled all over the highway some 50 miles or so from Chicago. I was hoping to read about it in your blog, too. You should totally run down and get some cookies (oreos are those treats for me that I CANNOT ever buy or eat as the next thing you know the entire package is gone. And I even know the crap that is in them and I can't give them up. They are all or nothing with me, so I go for nothing).
