So, it's Wednesday, but my weekend lasted until Monday... :-)
Sunday morning was my Sunday at Techny for the month. I'm glad I'm finally getting more comfortable there...this is the church that was a little disorienting at first because of the big delay. Funny thing is, I felt really comfortable this week and was still watching the organist bob back and forth to make sure we stayed together and all, but he mentioned that he felt like we weren't together. Whatever. Next up there is Palm Sunday with the quartet, and Holy Week stuff, which will be split between there and my other church.
After church I went over to Donau for the annual Kindergruppe Champagne brunch. Brunches at club are always a good time, and usually I do well not eating too much...not this time. It was still fun, though. Trey was nice enough to help out all morning, which was great of him, and much needed - the place was packed despite the weather being horrible. I think my highlight was the little girl, A, who ran up to me when I arrived, gave me a big hug, and said, "Happy birthday!" very enthusiastically. She's 4, and her mom said that she'd been talking about how she had to tell me happy birthday at the brunch ever since my mom had told the kids it was coming up at practice the week before. Cute. :-)
The afternoon was spent looking over music before another gig at the Lombard church, which actually extended into Monday and Tuesday evenings - yup, I went to church 4 times in 3 days. Luckily it was pretty easy stuff, so once music was looked over it sort of ran itself. Monday I had a nice day of doing laundry, working out, and taking Willie to the vet before my evening job. Not too much excitement for a birthday, but nice and relaxing nevertheless.
That's all for now - have a great day everyone!

sounds like a great weekend!
going to church 4x in 3 days. That reminds me of a recent family's wedding. My great-aunt went to Church 3x in one day - morning for her friend's funeral, afternoon for a full Mass wedding - but it was a hair before the 3:30 cut off so - no joke - we went directly from the wedding Mass to Mass to reception. (we went 2x in one day. 2x in 4 hours, really).
I always wondered about that, though, with the cantor or musicians for Mass - the ones that I know do muliple ones, and for multiple parishes - is it the music/job or the service they like so much? From your stories I take it's the singing.
Isn't it funny that a relaxing birthday is quite fabulous these days. *sigh* not that we're getting OLD. but....
how nice that your birthday fell on presidents day, though! That's fabulous!!
Thats a lot of singing!!
Tag you it ;)
Sounds like your vocal cords got a great workout. BTW... have you thought about making another CD?
