Gripe

I may have written about this before, so I apologize in advance for any possible repetition, but why do people listening to music on headphones need to turn the volume up loud enough for me to hear it at the other end of the train car? Trey and I were on our way home from the opera last night when a young lady (20ish?) got on the train.

This girl put on her headphones and proceeded to crank up the volume - though she was 2 cars in front of me, I could hear everything loud and clear. As we were getting up to leave, her music followed me all the way to the opposite end of the car. Had we had more than 3 more stops until ours I would've moved, and everyone else in the car was giving her dirty looks as well. I just don't understand. The only thing that made me feel better was that I could talk about her in full voice and she couldn't hear me.

Ok, so that's enough on that. Review of Falstaff coming up this weekend!

I hate that and don't understand why people do that. I think they know but they don't know that they are doing it.

yea. I don't get it, either. Even if she were hard of hearing, decibel levels that high would continue to damage the hearing even more.

Aww, she was just sharing her taste in music with you. :) She was trying to be nice, right??

I agree, that is so obnoxious! But I think it's funny that you can then talk about her in full voice cause she can't hear you!

You could have looked at her and started mouthing words. When she took her headphones off to hear you better, you could have continued to mouth them. Maybe it would have confused her. At the very least it would have entertained you and the other people in the car...:)

I have a co-worker that does that and we work in cubicles with 4-foot walls. So annoying! But I heard that while I've been on maternity leave, she has been moved across the department. Yea!!!
