Happy first day for Christmas decorations...

I did pretty well managing to avoid seeing many decorations prior to today...there have been a few over the past week because of last Saturday's parade down Michigan Avenue and all, but I'm glad not to have seen many. Tonight, however, Trey and I are looking forward to getting our tree up. :-)

On a different note, while Jen's comment on my Avatar was very sweet, my Avatar is actually an angel because of the Chicago Chamber Choir concerts we had going on last week (click here for the Sun Times review - I was in the small ensemble he mentioned, too!). The whole concert was about death, and while that may sound morbid, it was a very inspirational concert. For the past couple of months when things haven't been too busy to think, I've gotten very reflective... yeah, that's nothing new either, but it's been different. I don't often get so worked up I start tearing up over the reflections, the music, or both. With most music I can get to the point that I'm totally caught up in it during a performance but still keep my composure, but with this concert I had to keep my distance emotionally from what I was singing. I'm looking forward to an archival recording being available to us soon, and maybe I can figure out how to post a couple of sound clips.

On yet a different note, I've got a few pictures I've been wanting to post for a while now...On my last day at DLK I came back from lunch (the first time my boss ever took me out to lunch) to find a gorgeous fall bouquet from my coworkers. I brought it home and put it in the bathroom. Well, a couple of days later I came home from the new job to realize I'd forgotten to close the bathroom door before I left, but the cats had left things alone. I decided to put the flowers on the dining room table. The next morning I awoke to find this....

and this...

Now, I wonder who was responsible...

That's hilarious! Just good that he's not allergic to flower pollen. :)

Since we own a house we don't have enough lights and decorations to do anything outside just yet, but we're working on the plans. Hooray!!! :-) Can't wait to get things decorated. You'll have to take a pic of your tree once it's all done up.

Don't you just love kitties and how they love to eat flowers. That's a great pic!

Yay for the start of Christmas music!! 24 hours a day! And I have already listened to my record (yes. record) of the Vienna Boys Choir singing Stille Nacht (I have no idea how to spell that.....). YAY :)

Everyone else's cats always seem so adorable. I think I want one. But then I remember "lil shit" AKA Ollie and the thought (smell) of litter boxes. then I don't need one so much anymore. But so freaking cute!!!
