Random updates

So, since I have a little time at work, or rather, since I am making even more of an effort to not be stressed out while here, I'm taking a little blog break right now. I have a few random things to update on as well...

1) Career matters: I was not kidding in my reply to Karen's question yesterday. It sounds absurd that I am without benefits that are considered the standard by most of us. I may give more detail at a later point in time, but not now.

2) Guilt: on that note, once I am in a position in which those benefits are standard, I will need to shake off these tremendous feelings of guilt I continue to experience for leaving others behind. I know I need to get over it, but I feel like I'm really the only advocate for so many around here.

3) Ancestry update: on a much happier note, I have been in contact this week with the lady whose ancestors come from Kernei, and last night got a message from her before she left for Europe. Turns out that her grandparents' names were Peter and Katharina Rill...my grandparents' names were/are Peter and Katharina Rill. They're not the same couple, but how freaky is that! We've got a book from Kernei detailing families from the town since the 1700s - my siblings and I are in the book as descendants, and I'm sure this lady is, too. I can't wait to go over to Evi's and look it up!

4) Reunion: my 10 year high school reunion is this Saturday night. I'm actually excited about it, too.

5) Music matters: I have Chicago Chamber Choir tonight, and I'm always so happy about that!
