So, I can’t really say a whole lot at this point, but work has been pretty much a hell hole for the past few months and it’s just gone from bad to worse. I wish the development folks at the condo sales office would get their ducks in order so we can close on this deal and I don’t have to worry about putting our mortgage at risk by going elsewhere.
Anyway, as a result, I haven’t felt much like blogging. Well, I have the excuse of life being a little busy besides on top of it, too. So, what’s going on?
Fall is about to take off – I just started up with voice lessons, CCC starts up soon and it looks like I may be doing their outreach coordination (hooray!), as does Park Ridge Chorale. The first round of German stuff if about to take off starting with our trip to Mansfield over Labor Day weekend, and following with German Day weekend in Chicago right after that – I get to be in charge of the kiddies for the parade Saturday, and Trey and I will get to have some fun working in the beer tent, too!
Other news is that Trey picked up a gig music directing Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this fall. Not only is this huge for him, it looks like I’ll have the opportunity to work with the singers, too. Fun!
Not so fun is the weather we had late last week – I honestly would’ve blogged sooner had things not gotten so out of hand around here. T & I were fine, but mom’s power was out for about 24 hours and she got 3 inches of water in her basement so the weekend was spent doing a massive clean-up effort. I’m going back tonight to help finish up. Oma & Ota were without power for over 48 hours and got about 5 inches of water – fortunately Mark found them a generator, which went to another aunt’s house after it’d served O&O (aunt was without power for over 3 days). There were all kinds of streets closed due to the lakes in the middle of them, and my grandparent’s neighborhood looks terrible with tree limbs, and in some cases almost entire trees) snapped off and lying all over.
Anyway, I guess that’s it for now. I’ll write more later this week before it’s off to Mansfield for the annual Donau fest!

My children are just wonderful! The three that were in town did a great job pitching in and helping where needed. Oma and Otta are tickled too, as is Tante Rosie. You are just amazing people and you are joy to be with!
Love you,
Mom
WOW! that is crazy weather!!
Totally crazy weather. Our drive was a disaster going to Rochelle, IL... instead of 6 hrs it took us 11.5 hrs. I-80 was a mess... to go 6 miles it was taking people 2.5hrs. Sorry I didn't call, but in light of the weather we didn't venture to Chi-town like we wanted to. :-( Next time! I promise!
Holy cow, that's crazy! Glad you guys were able to get things taken care of for your family members and that everyone is safe and sound.
joesph is a FANTASTIC show - so much fun for all involved! I hope he enjoys it!
you're going to need to change your avatar's clothing sometime soon now that fall's coming!
Wow, what a terrible weather situation! Good to hear that you could get a lot done and that you have such fun projects ahead of you! I really liked Joseph a lot.
