Thanks for all of the comments yesterday. After a little bit of cooling off, we're figuring on just letting things play out. The condo people are telling us they want us to sign the new contract, after which we have a 5 day attorney review period. I'm telling them that we will not sign a contract until we have answers to the following questions: a) when can we expect upgrade work to be complete by (guaranteed date of completion), b) when do we get our security deposit for the apartment back (they've told us we do), and c) if we close mid-month, when can we expect to get reimbursed for the rent we've paid?
I asked them to answer those questions yesterday, and someone told me they'd call me back by the end of the day. Guess what... I followed up this afternoon and someone told me they'd call me back by the end of the day. It's almost 5:45, and they close at 7. We'll see...

these people are idiots - if they'd just tell you it'll take 48 hours you wouldn't be so consistantly disappointed! Keep on keepin' on...
Hang in there! I was really sorry to read your previous post - on the whole, that sucks! I hope everything works out the way you want it. It would be awesome if you could be homeowners!
Jeeze... good for you keeping them in check.
WOW! I would be frustrated, too. Good luck with everything. My fingers are crossed for you!
