Will we turn into FFGs?

I was fully intending on posting yesterday, but I got so run-down at work that it never happened. Why was I run-down, you ask? Because the fricking air conditioning is broken. Now, most who know me know that I’m always cold, therefore one of the things I like about my office is that the building is old, therefore there is no central air, therefore it’s not 65 in here all summer causing me to have to wear a parka in July and August.

Yesterday, however, it got a little crazy. At 2:30pm I decided I finally had had enough, and went to find myself some cold diet coke. I went outside, where it was 85, and it was actually a couple of degrees cooler out than it had been in the office. WTF?

This morning it’s not much better, though we’ve moved fans around a little so as to get more air flowing. One of my coworkers told me that if it stays like this she’s going to tell the office manager that she will have to wear flip-flops all summer, which I responded was perfectly acceptable given the circumstances. I added that if it stays like this I’m going to spend as much time as possible working from home.

Now, I know that the AC broke last summer, and that there has been someone here to fix it, but it’s obviously not working so why the @#$% can’t they just call someone who will do it correctly?

Ok, enough of my rant. Fortunately I only have to deal with this until 5:30, at which time I am leaving for the airport. Hopefully they’ll have this fixed by next Tuesday!

I have been freezing in the AC. That being said, I would probably be miserable without it. :) Hope you guys can stay cool!

we keep turning our AC down...it's TOO COLD (I wear turtlenecks and vests under my lab coat at work...and still shiver). We have it now turned to 74. It's not really 74, it can't be given how bundled up we have to be. And it's in the 80's outside. One would think they could "go green" and save some costs, and blah blah blah by not having it so cold here. But then again, we don't know why it's so cold. could have something to do with the ceiling tiles being missing (or a lot of them are)
Go enjoy Texas. if it stays that hot, I bet they do fix it quicker than if it were winter and no heat. And if that doesn't work, well...feign a fainting spell and blame it on heat stroke. :)

We also have AC in our office (a rarity here!), but it's turned off because one (out of 20) gets a headache from it. On the other hand we have a very relaxed dress code (by now 80% are already wearing flip flops), which makes it bearable.
