Whoosh!!!

There went the end of last week and the weekend! Thursday was work then rehearsal, but I did stop off at the Chicago Christkindlmarkt before heading up the red line. It’s been a few years since we’ve had the chance to go, and I think there are more food vendors there now than there used to be. It smelled so good I wanted to eat the whole place – thank goodness I didn’t have much time. I think Trey and I will have to try to get back before it closes, and maybe get some stuff for ourselves – love those Lebkuchen hearts. :-)

Friday was work, and right now I really can’t remember what I did afterwards. Oh, yeah, Trey and I hung out at home and played a little ER & Grey’s Anatomy catch-up. We finally got to watch the episodes from November 16th. Saturday morning I had rehearsal, and in the afternoon I did DLK stuff in an attempt to make-up hours I’ll lose this week. Saturday night we found a new German restaurant and it wasn’t bad. They had Zigeuner Schnitzel, which you don’t see very often but I love!

Sunday morning was church, home to go grocery shopping real quick, back to Sacred Heart for Christmas rehearsal, and then to Unity Lutheran for the CCC concert. Crazy man. Tonight is our second CCC concert, and then I get tomorrow night and Wednesday night off – probably will go to bed at about 9 each night! Seriously, though, Trey and I had our 5th opera tomorrow night but decided that since this week is so insane, and since this was one of the operas we were least excited about, we were going to stay home and find a good person to use the tickets. Anyway…

For anyone who missed the WBEZ broadcast on Friday, you can go back to the website and listen:
www.wbez.org, click on “Programs” and find “Eight Forty-Eight.” From there go to the Audio Library, December 2006, and click on 12/15. You can listen to the whole show, or just listen to our portion. We were also on the morning show on WGN TV Friday morning, which you may be able to watch online.

Last night’s concert was really fun. Certainly not perfect, and I don’t think we deserved the standing-O at all, but people liked it. There was a lot of sing-a-long stuff, and with over 300 people (CCC’s first-ever sold out performance!) in a smaller church it was wonderful to sing with the audience. Last I heard the performance tonight had about 80 tickets sold, but that was before all of this PR. It would be great to have another full house!

That’s all for now – happy Monday!

Sounds like you had such a busy weekend! With all the practices and performances that I read about… I’m just about exhausted when I’m finished with your blog! Sounds fun though. I’m glad that you got to catch up on Grey’s (my favorite show)… it’s definitely worth it! Hope you have a great week… Christmas will be here before you know it so no more whooshing!
