So, yesterday after flip flop girl left for the day I turned to the guy who sits right by her, the same guy who found her and recommended that she be hired, and said that I would smack her if she wore flip flops one more time. A conversation on her inexperience in general, especially her inexperience in graphic design (she was hired as a graphic designer), ensued. We discussed that not having real world experience combined with our ‘weird’ office could be confusing for her – the office is pretty laid-back in general, so I’ll give her that, but I still don’t understand the flip flops when it’s 35 degrees out. In any case, this guy said he would say something. I don’t think he’s had a chance to do that yet.
Now my big question is, if he doesn’t say something, should I? I really do want to smack her, but then again, I don’t want you all to be deprived of your entertainment!
Other than that, life is great – yesterday I had a problem with the front driver’s side window on my car (it was stuck in the down position) so I dropped it off at the dealership last night and dropped my key in the night drop (I figured the car would be safer in the dealer’s lot than in my apartment lot) and not only did the car not get stolen, it looks like it will be ready today!
I’m also very excited about Sunday. After my normal church singing I’ve got an afternoon concert. Actually, the Schwaebische Saengerbund has a concert, and I’m the featured soloist – I just get to sing a lot in the middle of their concert. I revived my Bach aria from the Coffee Cantata for it, and have been having a much easier time with that than anticipated, and will also be singing Mozart’s Laudate Dominum, Gershwin Someone to Watch Over Me, Wonderful Guy from South Pacific, and a German folk song called Sah ein Knabe ein Roeslein Stehn (translates to: a boy saw a little rose standing there). They asked me to have an encore prepared, too – I’ve never gotten to do that before! – so I’ve got the Schubert Ave Maria in German all ready to go. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it – now I just need to figure out what to wear!
Ok, enough for now – happy Wednesday!

i laughed out loud at your second thoughts about commenting to FFG as not to deprive us, your faithful blog readers, of entertainment!
Don't worry Viki, even if FFG stops wearing her flip flops I'm sure there will still be plenty of stuff with which to entertain us!
Sounds like a lot of fun singing for you on Sunday! I wish I could come hear you!
Jeeze... we go from typing FlipFlop Girl to FFG... just how much pleasure can we get from her??? Will wonders never cease? :-D Maybe for Christmas you can make her a really cool festive pair of flipflops. Maybe we could all make her a pair and then she can keep you (and your faithful blogger pals) entertained 365 days a year! :-D
Being the crafty person that I am, I can find directions for taking a ho-hum pair of flip flops and with a bit of fancy yarn, crochet up a really funky pair. Let me know what color, and I will make a pair for you to give her for Christmas!
Mom
I think this is a stellar idea. At the company Christmas party you whip out a pair of flip flops. At the young kids around here are wearing (or were when it was flip flop WEATHER) flip flops with feathers all over them. I will buy them if you will give them =)
Justin
Hooray for mom offering to make flipflops! And can I just say, at the rate you're going Viki, you're going to be famous, and we'll all get to say we knew you!
Can you put jingle bells on the flip flops??? May help people run when they hear her coming. Will help with the smack smack smack too...
LMAO! I can't believe that everyone wants to pitch in for FFG's flip flop Christmas present! How many pairs would that be in total? 8? 10?
