Ok, more to update on – last week Friday I brought my dirndl to work, and changed before I left so as not to schlep the dirndl on trains in both the am and pm. So, there I am on the El in a cute German dress…and shortly before I get off, the woman sitting next to me says, “I’m sorry, but I’m just so curious; where do you work?” I laughed and explained that I was going to the German Day fest and singing and all that. I guess it’s been a long time since I’ve worn a German outfit on the train, and I’ve never seen anyone save me or an immediate family member on the El in one either.
Friday night went well – the weather was great, the atmosphere was festive, and all were having a good time. Being in good voice I decided to pop the high B-flat on the word “free” and got a great response. Trey and I hung out for the evening and Deb & friends joined us. Fun stuff!
Saturday morning it was off to the DMV to replace my driver’s license, having lost it at some point last Sunday. It took a few minutes less than the over 2 hours I was expecting for a Saturday morning, and I got in a bunch of phone time (hooray for catching up with Sarah F!). After that I got all of the music for Mark’s wedding (2 weeks!) copied, put in packets, and sent off before coming home to veg and falling asleep for a couple hours. I got a second wind after my nap and got a bunch of cleaning done…too bad our apartment is getting messy again!
Sunday was nice, despite the bit of rain we got. Things at the fest were low key, so we left earlier than expected and decided to try a new restaurant from the Entertainment book – we found a fantastic Thai place just a few minutes from our house, which is wonderful since we haven’t had a good local place since Thai Gourmet in Kenosha!
Ok, that’s all for now. Today’s another busy one, and tomorrow & Thursday are rehearsals – ahh! I promise I will post a picture of myself in a cute German dress the next time I am blogging at home and blogger is working right…

It was great to catch up with you too! Thanks again for calling!
I can't wait for the pics as well!
I have this horrible picture of your vocal cords getting strung out like an accordian when you said "pop the high B-flat on the word “free”".
Did you get the words this time? j/k
