Update, part 1

So, yeah, things have been a little crazy for the past couple of months. I think that if a) and had a laptop and b) Metra had Wifi capabilities, I’d be much better at keeping up with all of this blogging stuff, but alas… Trey and I did have a great week last week and a wonderful weekend, and though I know he’s written a bit about it already I want to write a little as well. This may come in installments…

Probably one of the best things about last week was that Trey and I got to have dinner together something like 2 or 3 times. Dinner. At home. Drinking wine. Relaxing. Mind you, we’d done our best to have dinner on rehearsal and show nights, and did fairly well considering – when I had off nights was the easiest because I could pick up dinner and had time to sit and relax, so we’d have Panera or McD’s sitting in the parish office. At home is just so much nicer. Even better when the cats come and snuggle with you after dinner!

A couple of other nice, relaxing things about last week – I actually did more for lunch than eating at my desk while I was working because I didn’t have to worry about making up time on the days I wasn’t leaving early for the show. This really just meant that I got up and went outside and walked around a little more, but it was still really nice. Inside was a little crazy at work anyway – part of our no AC remedy was keeping the lights off, so we were working by lamplight all week.

On to Friday – nice and relaxed at work as my one boss was out, the accountant left at noon, and the big boss just stopped in for a little while. At one point I actually had to bring the head honcho something at the yacht club, which between getting there (4 blocks in a taxi took 20 minutes) and walking back (which also took a really long time due to Grant Park being completely blocked off by Lollapalooza), my afternoon ended up with me not getting much done. Trey met up with me around 4:20ish, and then we got ready to go up to Ravinia (read more about that on his blog).

That’s all for now – I’ll write about the rest of the weekend tomorrow…

I'm glad that you and Trey could eat dinner together even during the craziness!

I wish I could eat dinner with my wife period. Instead she went out with friends from church without me tonight. ;-) It really is wonderful though isn't it? Dinner at home with each other?

Kilroy was here!

Dinner together is such precious time. I don't think people realize how important it is for sharing.

I second the kitty cuddling part after dinner. Sometimes it's even better than dessert.
