Weekend!

Oh, I'm so glad it's the weekend! I'm also very happy about this remote connection to work thing I've got going on. I think I've explained that my current job is hourly, so since I'll lose a day on the 4th of July I'd planned on going in to the office today. Turns out that all of the stuff I thought I'd actually have to be at work to do will have to wait until Monday. I just got 2 hours worth of stuff done with my remote connection, am now going to take a break to work out and shower, then will go back and do a little more later. Best part - I've save over 3 hours because I don't have to commute (used the first hour and a half to sleep in and lounge in bed)!

While it does kind of suck that I have to go to work on Monday, I'm still glad I get Tuesday off. Plus, having the extra days I didn't actually have to go to the office this weekend & Tuesday is making for a nice relaxing feeling before all hell breaks loose with this play.

On that note, I'd just like to say that I've done very little complaining online about how badly rehearsals have been run for this show and how inefficiently time has been used - Trey has had to bear the brunt of my nightly post-rehearsal rants. Yes, you would have them too if you had to sit through a 2 1/2 hour rehearsal in which you actually did stuff for 20 minutes. On top of the incredible inefficiency is the fact that I get up around 5:20am, leave the house before 7, go straight to rehearsal from work, and don't get home/eat dinner until at least 9:30. All of this turns Viki into a bitch.

I did, however, find the trick to making better use of rehearsal time the other night, though. There was about 30 minutes worth of a project I was going to do on the train, but instead took it into rehearsal. I did keep an eye on what was going on, but was able to get my work done, and it made things go much faster. I think I'm going to try this over the next couple of weeks, during which I will have plenty of both the expected and unexpected downtime. It'll probably help me to be more productive at work, and won't have me stressing out over losing time when I have to leave early on show nights.

So, nothing exciting today - just what's been on my mind lately. Hope y'all have a beautiful rest of the day Saturday and a wonderful Sunday!

i hear you on the frustration of things run ineffeciently. I get very bitchy as well and feel totally justified in it. People wasting my time is a large pet peeve of mine.

Amen, sister!! Is the church a hotspot? I should bring my laptop and get some work done, too. :)
