Before I post about the weekend, can I tell you what I saw this morning? I'm pulling in to the train station parking lot, and to my left is a little silver coupe with tons of donuts dumped on top of it. There must have been 20 dozen donuts (plain, cake donuts), as well as the boxes they'd come in, on top of and surrounding this car. The owner was obviously not happy, and the sheriff who'd come to check it out looked a little annoyed as well. It was funny, though.
Now, on to other things - this weekend was pretty nice. Trey and I got to spend Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday nights together! Friday dinner was American spaghetti, but T surprised me and bought a bottle of a brut rose that was on special at Binny's - someone in the store had asked him about why he was buying champagne (i.e., romantic dinner with the wife) and he said that no, he just felt like champagne. Hee hee. It was a nice little bottle, and for $6 you can't go wrong and don't feel bad. Last night we actually had the time do one of our favorite grill recipes, and grilled some sweet potatoes to go with it - I usually don't like sweet potatoes, but when you grill them with a little bit of salt and pepper they're awesome (they're nasty cooked in any recipe that uses sugar!).
Most of the rest of the weekend was spent singing or rehearsing in some capacity. Sunday morning was great - after church I ran through my anthem for next week with the music minister and sounded much better than I was expecting to. Margie (music minister) seemed really excited, so I was happy, and I think next Sunday will go well. Both Saturday and Sunday were Pirates rehearsals as well, and Sunday I got to do most of the Mabel singing as Laura (other cast) was under the weather. It's nice that after just a couple of months my high C is really nice and solid, and the E-flat above it is starting to come back...hopefully by the show it'll be good and then I can really wow everyone. :-)
Other news - Italy won the World Cup, which makes Trey and I even more glad that we're not there. We can't even imagine how nuts it must have been. Kristin is back in Chicago again for the next couple of weeks (hooray!) so that will be fun. Work is work, but the next couple of weeks will be nice - my boss is on vacation Wednesday to Wednesday and has already given me license to be really flexible with my hours, which will come in handy now that rehearsals will run later and the show is opening.
More later this week!

So when do you open?? What times are the shows?? I am coming to see it!!!
sounds like a good weekend in general!! :)
Sounds like a super fun weekend. :-)
P.s. I was def. rooting for France...
Sounds like a great weekend, too bad you couldn't snap some pitcures of donut car, that sounds great.
This is why you need a picture phone! All of these great things that you see that we never get to appreciate! =) I wish I got to spend that much time with my hubby....
Sorry we didn't stop by to see anyone while we were back. We camped at Chain-o-Lakes State Park and only stayed for 4 days before heading to Mom's.
I am guessing that Margie is delighted to have you and Trey at the church. Tell Miss Margie and Miss Alison that Maddy and Katie say hello. We were going to drop by church on Sunday, but that was one more thing we didn't do during our trip!
Good luck with the performance! I'm just glad to be reading about the rehearsal rather than sitting through 4 hours of watching rehersal nightly! :) You will have to let us borrow the video - Maddy was asking to see you in the play.
I totally agree with you on the sweet potatoes!
Jelaine found this sweet potato recipe for me and it is awesome. She hasn't tried it yet, but you really must give it a shot. Bake the sweet potato (400 F for 90 min in foil). Warm up black beans on the stove and grate a bunch of cheddar cheese. Open up the potato, put the black beans and cheese on top and enjoy! Sounds wierd, looks great, tastes even better!
Kilroy was here!
