Weekend highlights

So, I know that all of you have probably written about this (I’d heard that Lisa had by yesterday afternoon) but I haven’t read any of it – I wanted to write from my own point of view first. Here are my highlights:

Friday night – everything! From Karen having a big bag of salad for me, to the “fun” party and the entertainment that followed (that was really something else). I especially enjoyed dragging Megan over to her new neighbors’ apartment – they’re cute boys so hopefully she’ll get to know them better!

Saturday morning – walking around Karen’s house in a towel/the morning routine…just like walking around 1320, but with more covered. J

Saturday afternoon – getting to see Sarge & Brenda, discovering that ArtStreet isn’t all it’s cracked up to be so I shouldn’t be jealous I wasn’t at UD to be able to live there (you’d think they could put a better practice room piano in a building that cost that much), and finding more Superman underwear at Meijer with Sarah.

Saturday evening/night – loosening up with dinner Lisa’s before going to the Porch Party and proving that I’m still a Flip Cup champ, seeing everyone who was there, meeting Gareth, the Fieldhouse visit, and the drunk phone call to Trey.

Sunday morning – finding my pajama pants on the bathroom floor.

Sunday afternoon – getting all emotional about my little sister graduating. I not only marvel at her near-perfect GPA, but still sit in complete awe of her fight with Lupus. 3 years ago she was minutes away from death due to complications; yesterday she graduated on time, she’s back to being a champ fencer, and as energetic and…well, as Kristin…as ever. As disappointed as I was when we were little (I actually asked for a baby sister that wouldn’t grow up for Christmas one year), and even though I sometimes slip into thinking of her as being so much younger than I am, when I stop and think about it she really amazes me every day. She brings so much light to everyone she comes across and I don’t know what we’d do without her.

Ok, enough with the mushiness! I’m looking forward to reading everyone else’s thoughts about the weekend, and I’ll write more or post to your blogs tomorrow.

That's a very sweet thing to say about your sister. It's always good to know inspiring people.

Viki, do you remember before Tony was born? You didn't want a baby brother or sister, at that time you wanted "ein Wauwau!"

You are pretty special yourself,

Love,
Mom

Hmmm... sounds like you had a busy weekend (LOL). Glad to hear you had so much fun and you made it safe to graduation.

What a beautiful thing to say about your sister! :-)

Viki, you make me cry... I love you too, more than words can say, and let me tell you, I only got through ALL of this because I had you, mom, mark, tony, Jonathan and everyone else by my side the whole time, wether it was sitting beside me in the hospital keeping me company or talking to me on the phone when things were hard and I wanted to give up, I wouldn't have made it without you!!!

Ok, so I want to know what a Wauwau is. I tried googling it and looking it up on wikipedia, but to no avail. It sounds like some kind of animal but can you enlighten me? :-)
Oh and I am going to have to ask Trey about the phone call...I bet that was entertaining!

Kilroy was here!

A Wauwau (pronounced "vow-vow") is the word little German kids use for dog. :-)
