Happy hump day!

Note for the fellow bloggers – I’m reading everyone’s stuff but if I don’t respond, don’t get offended. I’m trying. Also, to those of you who haven’t posted to your own or anyone else’s blogs (S, E, AB, etc.) are you going to keep up with your blogs or should I not bother trying to read them? I only ask because I care about you and want to know what’s happening in your lives.

Things at work are stressful today, so I need a blog break more than ever! I hope I can get this out quickly…

This weekend was great – beautiful on Saturday although I got stuck coming to work, and I got some nice Viki time as Trey was working later and visiting with some folks near where he works afterwards. He came home with lots of wine because his store had a tasting that afternoon, so we stayed up late drinking some of it.

Sunday we got to work on the apartment – we got so much done! Got furniture in the office situated, which allowed us to put other things in the apartment away (still lots to sort out in the office, but at least it’s put away). We got to a point where we also hung most of our big pictures and posters on the walls, leaving room for a few things still on their way to us (like the fantastic painting Trey’s mom did for us and the incredibly cross-stitch wedding sampler my mom made). I can’t promise to post pictures any time soon – there’s just no time for it. You’ll all just have to come and visit!

Monday was Monday, but I didn’t feel like my time in rehearsal was wasted, so that’s good.

Working Saturday paid off on Tuesday because I got to take the day off to spend with Nicky & Joey (& Kristin)! We went to Lincoln Park Zoo (maybe Kristin will post pictures?) and used Metra & the CTA to get there. I’m a little partial because they’re my cousins & they’re so cute, but I had even more fun than I thought I would. The two of them are like little dreams – they’re so bright and curious, have such vivid imaginations, are fun, and are just genuinely well behaved and considerate. Some highlights from the day:

-Revolving doors – I really don’t like them, but how can I help but chuckle when I think of how the boys had to go around twice every time because they think revolving doors are cool?
-The boys’ curiosity about public transportation
-The ducks – we saw a mama duck being followed around by her 10 tiny ducklings! Too bad there were stupid people who wouldn’t leave the babies alone…
-The Egyptian Goose, the twin piglets, and Joey’s agreement that gazelles are really pretty animals
-The $65 stuffed toy lion in the gift shop

There’s more, but I’m running out of time and space. More later this week – I hope everyone’s doing well!
