Totally unmotivated

So, I got back from a meeting with one of the government agencies we work with around 3:30pm, and have not been able to get myself motivated to do anything since I've returned! It's amazing how meeting with groups like that will eat away at your brain until it's nothing but mush. Anyway, it does give me a good excuse to spend the last few minutes of my day blogging.

This weekend was nice - I honestly don't remember what I did Friday night, but Saturday was very productive. It's crazy that I was backed up at work before I started, but it allows for overtime, and if Trey works on Saturdays then I'm fine with it at least part of the time. After work I spent some time at mom's doing laundry, online banking, and stepping out to run errands. Side question - why is it that you can go to Walmart, pick up less than 10 things, get in the shortest checkout line, and it still takes you an hour?

Sunday morning I got to relax for a couple of hours before Pirates of Penzance auditions. I came out feeling like crap and second-guessing myself, which I didn't need because I've been feeling the same way in so many other areas of life for the past few months. Anyway, I apparently the panel's reactions wrong (1 - they really liked my singing, even though it was opera, which was stylistically appropriate for Gilbert and Sullivan anyway but I was paranoid, and 2 - because who I heard murmurs about my vacation schedule - I'm missing the first 2 days of rehearsal - I thought it was bad, but apparently my vacation schedule is a lot better than most). So, callbacks are on Thursday night and my inside sources tell me I have a very good shot...it would be so nice to be in a show again, and to get to sing my own really fun soprano song. Wish me luck!

After that I had a little more downtime to attend to backed-up e-mail before going out to catch the tail end of my friend Bryan's concert - he was the tenor soloist for a performance of the Mozart Requiem at his old college. I love that boy. If he wants to keep singing he will get up to the Met at the rate he's going. He's the most incredible 25 year old tenor I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.
