A little confused...

If you read this in the morning, feel free to give your opinion...

Yesterday I had an e-mail in my inbox asking me if March 27 was good for an interview at Ravinia. I replied that the 27th would be good, asked what time would be best for them, and double-checked on the location. I then offered to call for a phone interview, as they're actually doing most of their interviews this week and the 27th was given to me as a second choice since I won't be back on the 17th. I haven't gotten a response, which I'm guessing is either because a) they're really busy, b) their e-mail system filters stuff out so Yahoo mail takes an extra day, or c) both. I'd like to call tonight to check (6 or 7pm here would be 11am or noon there) but the ad said 'no phone calls' so I'm hesistant. Still, I'm guessing that since they've made contact with me it would be Ok, especially given my current overseas status?

On a similar note, being asked in for an interview has really pumped me back up in this whole job search thing. I had a little breakdown last Friday resulting in me sitting on the couch and crying for an hour, after which I felt better, but after yesterday morning I'm back up to searching for things and sending out resumes as well as doing follow-up e-mails for the positions I've already sent things to. I really feel so much better after the whole Ravinia thing yesterday, though. In any case, I guess we'll see how it all goes!

yes, i think you're in the clear for calling them. they have already reached out to you once, so it's totally justified. besides, you have a logical reason- wanting to accomidate them more- to call.

go for it and keep us posted.

I would call. They made contact with you first. They put things like that in their ads to make sure people don't pre call asking salary, location, etc. and wasting staff time. Go for it! Keeping you in my prayers!

I agree that you should call. They've already requested the interview, so you're not just cold calling.

Good luck with that!

I'm too late to give advice on the call, but I wanted to say, keep your chin up on the job hunt. I know it can be frustrating, but you're very qualified and you'll find something eventually. Just remember, you have a college degree, that gets your foot in a lot of doors.
