Chocolate with what?!?!

Last night was another "Hail & Farewell" dinners the band does, and this time we were the farewellees. We had a great time, and I was really happy that I allowed myself to be a pain in the butt and add a few extra seats at one end of the table so as to avoid some folks down at the other end. :-) Yes, I figured that for our farewell dinner I wanted to have a good time, and getting talked into a corner by a certain chief's wife who has rarely shown an interest in me (except on the one occasion I did allow her to talk me into a corner) was not going to constitute a good time.

Anyway, after a pretty good dinner I decided I really wanted some gelato - pistachio gelato to be exact. On the way home we stopped at the Nautilus Dolcezze & Caffe place by our house and picked up a container of pistachio, banana, & chocolate to take home, which was far too expensive but incredibly worth it. I have discovered that Ben & Jerry's does make pistachio ice cream, but it's just not the same as this gelato stuff, which I will truly miss as well.

In any case, as I was giving the guy at the register my left arm as payment, I was noticing some of the different types of chocolate they had on display next to the register. There were the standard types like dark chocolate with varying levels of cocoa (I still like the 99% Lindt Excellence stuff the best!), chocolate with orange, cherry, lemon, and other fruits, and different types of praline bars. I saw something new, however: chocolate with cannabis. I pointed to the bar and asked Trey if that was what I thought it was and he said 'yes.' Man, what will the think of next?

I considered buying a bar, but 1) $4 for a bar the size of a small Hershey bar was a little steep, and 2) I hypothesized that in order for the good drugs to be released, the stuff had to be heated, as it is when you bake it into brownies. I know that chocolate is heated in the process of making it, but wasn't sure that it would be the same. If I do get really curious this week, however, maybe I will try it.

That's it for today. I have to tell you all, however, that as I'm writing this Trey is sitting on the couch playing with the Christmas card I got him - the one with the monkey on it. He just said, "He, he. Monkey," and started making monkey sounds. I don't know if the rest of you ladies have husbands who do things like this, but I don't think I'd be able to survive without one like him. :-)

You were completely justified in moving seats around so that you could enjoy your farewell dinner. After all, it was your party!

Crazy stuff about the chocolate!

Glad to hear you had fun at your party.

Interesting stuff about the chocolate... maybe you should try it before coming home.

Yes, I have a hubby that does that kind of stuff all the time. His facination is playing with this little stuffed money I got him. He has long arms (with velcro) and makes him wave at me (and him when I won't pay attention). I'm glad he makes me (and himself) laugh the way he does. :-D

Better that Trey plays with his own monkey instead of someone elses...J/K! Although I do have to take this opportunity to comment on the fact that the cutest stuffed monkey ever is that one on the Febreeze commercial. He cracks me up! :-)

Kilroy was here!

Karen, I will have to go get a bar of that chocolate, I guess.

Sarah W - Trey may have the same monkey. It's from IKEA, and it's a mommy and baby monkey, each with little velcro hands. I'll have to take a picture of them. :-)

You will definitly have to do a report on the "chocolate". And Kendall does weird crap all the time. So much so that there's really no point on even blogging about it...because I would have to mention something on a daily basis. It's just boys. They're weird...just like we thought in 4th grade.

You should mention a few things Kendall does from time to time - it'll make us all laugh. :-)
