So, last night I was having a midnight snack of leftover flour tortillas and was reading the back of the Ortega package. In big, bold letters was the warning "DO NOT MICROWAVE TORTILLAS IN PACKAGE." I was slightly confused because I was not aware that the word microwave was a verb, so this morning I consulted the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, which resulted in the following entry:
Main Entry: 1mi·cro·wave
Pronunciation: -"wAv
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
1 : a comparatively short electromagnetic wave; especially : one between about 1 millimeter and 1 meter in wavelength
2 : MICROWAVE OVEN
When I clicked on the second meaning of the word, Microwave Oven, this is what was returned:
Main Entry: microwave oven
Function: noun
: an oven in which food is cooked by the heat produced by the absorption of microwave energy by water molecules in the food
Conclusion - the word microwave is a noun, not a verb, and therefore the people at Ortega who create the packaging for flour tortillas should go back to elementary school for English classes.
There was one other random thing I was going to write about today, but it's slipped my mind. For now, I'm going to wish everyone a happy weekend - if you have the day off on Monday, do something fun. We're actually off to Brussels for the weekend because we found really cheap airfare and lodging. This means I'll be spending my birthday tomorrow eating chocolate, drinking beer, and admiring the statue of the little boy peeing!

I think that's why the slang "nuking" is so vital to this society
