Yes, it's that time of year again. No doubt all of you have seen the news about Mardi Gras, especially since they're actually doing it New Orleans (which I think is really cool). Well, in Europe things get pretty nuts...so nuts, in fact, that Trey and I are not going downtown to hear Lang Lang play a recital tonight for fear of getting hit by eggs, fire works, pieces of fruit, shoes, or anything else the revelers feel like throwing at some folks not in costume.
While going downtown this time of year can get a little scarey, walking around the neighborhood can be really fun because all of the kids are dressed up. Yesterday, while going out to stock up on wine, we drove past a couple of Spidermen. At the mall we saw a Power Ranger, several princesses, Batman, and a myriad of other costumes. It was really cute. :-)
So, that's all for today. Hmm. I wonder if the neighbors are making lasagna again...in Naples they only have it on and right around Fat Tuesday, and it's so much better here than anywhere else!
PS-sorry no pictures...didn't have time this weekend...

is this a replacement for Halloween (the dressing up part)?
Hmmm...lasagna...I think I'll go make some. Got those pictures today, by the way. I really like the one of Kendall winking. I'm going to put it in my blog.
Kids here do Halloween as well, but it's not as big. Carnivale, Mardi Gras, Fasching, and I'm not sure what other names it goes by, is just celebrated more in Europe. We used to have parties at the German club all the time...I think the year I went as an Oma, I won for most creative costume. :-)
